It's official; I've gone nuts. It's still worth trying anyway. First chapter is inbound.

Chapter I: Prologue

Public address system of Germany; 16th October, 1944:

“People of Berlin and collaborators on Bornholm,

It’s been bloody five years since the war started and two years since the encirclement of Berlin began. Soviets knew this too well; if they cut the head off the body, the body shall rot. Without supplies from Berlin, it was just a matter of time when the rest of our European army gets annihilated to dust. More importantly, it was mainly the coalition of Low Countries, which draw our armies’ attention, and left us without the means to bring a proper fight to our greatest enemy; the Bolsheviks, red plague coming in from the east, declaring war on us in the midst June of 1942.”

“Yet, the will of German people is too strong to break without the capture of Berlin. Thus, I wanted to honor my people’s army – the Volkssturm. They’ve done a remarkable job during the defense Berlin and brought many sacrifices to our Reich.”

A Volkssturmmann holding his Panzerschreck

“But it’s time to stop hiding in bowels of our capital city. We need to free our families and friends in besieged cities from the claws of Soviet tyranny or western capitalism. Our European allies are relying on us and dispatched us the rest of their armies. Our armies, while severely weakened, nevertheless greatly experienced, are able to drive our enemies from our Fatherland, from Europe. And one day from the whole World! The important, no, vital objective for them is to reach the island of Bornholm, where is our big supply dump: tanks, firearms, grenades, everything! Since this day, competent people were put on highest ranks; our scientific research was directed on improving commonly used technologies and our intelligence will pursue important objectives.”

The state of Wehrmacht – one half lies on Bornholm completely annihilated and the other defends Berlin

“There is no space for falling back now. You can go only forward. Cut off the tentacles of the red cancer.

Your Führer, Adolf Hitler.”

Nooo, it's just that April fool. On 4th May :p

Für das vaterland!

Quite so :)

Amazing! Although I don't think you can make it

If you were in the Red Army, you'd be executed by now. You're lucky that I need every man I can get...

Nice stacking penalty.

Not on my watch :p

Yep, you're officially crazy Ikar.

You're mad, man! You're mad! :D

Seriously ur totally mad:rolleyes:

I've told you already :p

Why is half of your army in Bornholm?

Why is half of your army in Bornholm?

These are shattered units from all around of Europe. And they placed there because the theatre HQ got probably shattered too, since in HPP, shattered divisions spawn in the province where their theatre HQ is ;)

P.S. I called them equipment, because you need to man these in order to work. My point of view seeing an empty division ;)

Chapter II: Technology, Production and Politics

If I’m to get the Third Reich out of this, I need to get rid of these monstrosities performed by almighty AI.

Production:
I’m not entirely sure when (but the where is the bigger question here) I should use these escorts and convoys AI has in production. I don’t know if I should use them to ship supplies in Berlin down the Spree, or if I should organize boat competitions; I just don’t know. The same goes for the rest of the ships in the queue.

On the other hand, that Dornier Do 215 looks reasonably; though I’d rather see a bunch of Panzers constructed instead of it. There were three more divisions in the queue (Fallschirmjäger, Marinesturm and Infanterie) but no progress was made on them ever since, so I left there just that barely-started project of 6. Infanterie-Division.

Research:
I’ve already discontinued AI’s research, because it was just terrible (don’t worry; if I need to research them later on, I can just start from the point I’ve ended). Basic weapons for infantry are somewhat up-to-date, but I was somehow surprised that my starting divisions have mostly MP 36, Karabiner 98k and on rare occasions MP 40 firearms, instead of having at least MP 41, Gewehr 43 and StG 44 weapons. Not being able to build Panzergrenadiers (mechanized infantry) in 1944 is also somewhat disturbing.

What is the name of German weapon Mike Powell is holding in his hands? German scientists haven’t figured it out so far.

What’s worse, Germans are seriously lagging behind in both motorized (next screenshot) and regular support divisions (and remember that HARM is a support division in HPP too). I’d like to have balanced army with both regular and motorized infantry, since I’m not sure if cannibalizing energy to crude oil alone will keep all of my Panzers rolling. And as for tank research, it’s a pure disaster. At this point, Germans should’ve had quite a few Panther and Tiger Ausf. B (Tiger II) tanks rolling, instead of that they’re stuck at Panzer III and Neubaufahrzeug!

On our way to Panther, we need to overcome also the intermediate stage named Pzkpfw. IV

1936’s level of industrial production let me stare at it speechlessly for quite a while.

clipboard05n.jpg

Doctrines are OK and updated. I can't complain about them.

clipboard06zs.jpg

Politics:
The political situation in Germany is quite good. They have plenty of ministers to choose from, so I’m going for the best ones.

clipboard07f.jpg

Humph, this pesky Belgelands! With some luck, USA nor Romania won’t join Allies to fulfill the 10th (last in order to win the game) victory condition. But the last time I’ve checked (Greater) Romania, they had Garda de Fier in power, which means they won’t join anyone anytime soon.

That would be all for this chapter. Do you have any advice to be said? :)

It may be to late for Hitler to run away, but there is still time for a glass of cyanide. Bottoms up!

This is madness!!!

No this is Berlin!

First thing that came to my mind :p

Berlin and Bornholm! Half of my Wehrmatchs' equipment is on that island

Chaaaarrrrrggggeeee!!!!!

I would expect somewhat more intelligent from you. You've like five comments in total in my AARs and now, well...

And what if I told you I want to finish (off) my Belgelands AAR first, eh? :p

I'm afraid he has nowhere to run neither. Though I'm impressed that he managed to survive up to this point :)

FOR THE REICH! PANZER, MAAARCH!!!
(Do you know the seventh panzer from the last days of the reich? No tanks, no trucks and 1 Motorcycle!)

any division of the last days was actually nothing more powerful than a reinforced batallion
