Hitler's Big boats
A Kriegsmarine focused TFH 1.43 BlackICE Germany AAR
By Redstar_over_Boston

Rudolf Hess had not been getting much sleep, as Deputy Führer, his presence was required at all major party meetings and all major party sponsored events that alone was taking its toll on the poor man but to make things worse was his daily meeting the Führer himself or at least that's what Hitler called them to hess they were nothing more than hours-long rant sessions were the Führer would go on and on about why this and that was why Germany lost the last war and about how this time they needed to do this to win the next war only for Hitlers to change his mind before anything practical could be done and other rant begin.

with deep black rings around his eyes and a "please god let this be over quick" look on his face hess should at the doors to Hitler's office he straightened his uniform changed the expression on his face and went in.

Hitler stood behind his desk looking out the window out into berlin "come closer" Hitler said still looking out the window "do you know why we lost the last war Hess" Hitler asked .
"here we go again " though hess "No mi Führer I do not"
Hitler turned around to face hess "neither do I" Hitler sat down "I been thinking about it nonstop since I have come to power thinking about what went wrong what we should have done differently finally I have found the answer "

Hitler paused dramatically before shouting "BOATS"

"boats" repeated Hess

"yes boats said Hitler BIG, BEAUTIFUL, BOATS just like the ones the British and French" have Hitler began to pace back and forth errantly "it's so obvious hess I can't believe I didn't see it sooner he who controls the seas controls the land and as long as our enemies control the seas we will never achieve victory"

"with all due respect, have you been snorting cocaine" again asked Hess

"NO" shouted Hitler
"Not this time my mind is clear and I known what we must do" Hitler stood up straight and added Hess in a serious manner "herr Hess gather the cabinet at once we must begin the overhaul of the German navy at once "
"yes mine Führer" hess left the room shutting the doors behind him he let out a huge breath of air and begin to walk out of the building it looks like his sleeping situation won't be getting better anytime soon but hey.

"at least he's finally made up his mind," Hess thought to him as he crept out of the building.

Oho, a new HOI3 AAR? Best of German luck with it. If Hess is in it you must be playing for the laughs.

Never played BICE, is this going to be a gameplay or narrative AAR?

I expect SHBB's of the most inefficient of designs that will eat up half of Germany's industrial capacity, and also an insufficient number of bloated screening units (DD's with CL armament, and CL's with 8" guns). At least they will all look cool and be able to beat similar enemy units 1-1, at least on paper, and in a game of top trumps. Due to the massive investment and prestige attached to the SHBB's, they will only be committed to battle in the most favourable of circumstances, thus rarely doing anything useful, spending most of their time in port for repairs and maintenance, or for fear of getting themselves sunk if they actually face the more numerous Royal Navy. Eventually most of them will be sunk by Gloster Gladiators, either in port, or because an admiral frustrated by inaction took a massive risk without permission from his superiors, and found out too late that an enemy task force was backed up by 2 carriers. Of course the radar-guided Heavy Anti-Air Artillery will be unable to deal with slow-flying biplanes, and the Luftwaffe will be nowhere to be seen...

Let me catch my breath. Welcome to the forum. Lovely of you to start a new HOI3 AAR. Even if none of my above-stated 'expectations' come true, the narration by Hess, and mad Hitler's newfound obsession with boats, of any type, are enough to get my attention. Consider me subscribed.

ORDER, ORDER shouted hess banging the wooden gavel so hard you swear it'll break the room returned to normal and the meeting continued " the decision has already been made so screaming and shouting won't do anything" the living tube of lard known as Hermann Göring raised his "yes goring" said Hess " where exactly does the airforce fit into this restructuring ?" Hess answered "don't worry Göring we are still going ahead with the Luftwaffe" goring grinned "after all you cant have aircraft carriers without aircraft," said Hess as Göring smile slowly started to fade from his face.

"now if there are no more questions I have one last thing to say before we end this meeting, the Führer has ordered a complete audit of our current navy a tasked witch I have already assigned"

"to who ?" asked a confused Raeder

"a rising star in the admiralty, a young man whos deduction to the fatherland and the improvement of the navy is absolute, a man who proved himself multiple times in the fires of the great war, you will be meeting him soon MEETING ADJOURNED " he's slammed the gavel and the room slowly cleared out the navel audit would begin tomorrow and upon its conclusion, a detailed report would have to be made in preparation for his meeting with Hitler. the overhaul of the german navy had beguine.

subbed!

I hate to break it to you, but the last update was over 8 months ago. This AAR is almost certainly dead, or at least in very deep hibernation.

We do however have a wide selection of other excellent works on this board so feel free to peruse those!
