Nice update, thanks a lot...

About the aristocracy, the better way of reducing its power is to increase the number of free subjects, and to increase the support to the merchants class.

Bu it seems that you are increasing the serfdom in the Kingdom of Poland...

Another idea about an event could be the restoration of the Kingdom of Lithuania. The King of Poland proclaiming himself King of Poland and King of Lithuania, it could have some consequences in foreign policy. The king of Bohemia can think, he will be the next target of the ambitions of a king of Poland who want to reunite the three crowns of Poland, Lithuania and Bohemia on the same head...

I can add that if the King of Poland will take the crown of Lithuania, he would also give the same rights to the nobility of the new liberated lands, and the old nobility of core Poland who fight and die during the "two hundred years wars" could be upset.

Great to see Poles in the seas. Now all you need to do is to conquer the AIR.

bowl of soup
- Yeah, I would have to slow down a little bit.

Duke of Wellington
- Thank you, but I could have made that update better :)

Ladislav - Thanks, yes that`s good excuse for ship building.

Intosh - Formally nobody have Lithuanian crown, since Lithuania was defeated by mongols in 1340s. But I would emulate CK mechanisms, so I could claim crown once I conquer Lithuanian lands. Bohemian crown is also lost, Duke of Bohemia was king for one year. When I defeated him and vassalized he resigned of crown, after all king can`t be vassal of another king. So I could claim Bohemian crown, once I annex duchy of Bohemia.

I can make events that:
Once I have 90% of Lithuanian or Bohemian lands I can claim crown - gain cores on Lithuanian or Bohemian provinces - in exchange for gold. - similar to CK. What do you think?

EvilSanta - Hey man, you have some faithful fans like me :) , and number of your readers can only increase over time =)

RGB - , Yeah two powerful royal agents, North and South Poles already control magnetism of whole planet :D

New update this evening or tomorrow.

HISTORY OF THE WHITE EAGLE

szczerbiecuh1.jpg

Bezprym II the Great (Wielki)
1422 - 1449

bezprmII.gif

Part IV

By the year 1445 power of kingdom of Poland was close to that of XIII century. 45 years old king Bezprym dreamed about regaining of Lithuanian and Bohemian crowns. However, it was too early to annex his new vassal - Duke of Bohemia, and majority of Lithuanian lands were ruled by Duke Algirdas II.

Duchy of Lithuania was almost completely surrounded by Polish territory, it was obvious target in Bezprym`s road to unite Polish lands. Poles were major population of duchy - only people of Torki province remained faithful to old Lithuanian language and customs. Weak duchy pose no threat to Poland, but Bezprym knew, that he couldn`t simply invade. Over his reign kingdom aggressively conquered many neighboring countries, but this came at price. Bezprym was regarded as dangerous and violent monarch, and because his reputation was very low, his neighbors could attack him simultaneously in every moment.

Thus, Polish king needed good reason to call for his armies once again. Finally, after several months he received good news from his secret police. They managed to find old document from year 1250, which claimed that defeated king Henryk I ceded county of Grodno to traitorous king of Lithuania, but he didn`t renounce his claims.

Roszczenia.gif

Immediately emissaries were sent to Duke Algirdas, demanding province of Grodno. Young and ambitious Lithuanian Duke declined, and warned Polish diplomats, that his Duchy is allied with strong Mecklemburg. When Bezprym heard about that, he felt insulted, and impulsively made decision about war.

Ataknalitw.gif

At the beginning of 1447 mighty Polish armies were marching to Lithuania from every direction. Duke Algirdas was defeated in battle by Bezprym himself. After few weeks remnants of Lithuanian army were hiding in forests, while Poles besieged all major settlements. Many knights and soldiers fell ambushed by Lithuanians, but outcome of war was already obvious.

Meanwhile, Polish army fought violently with Duchy of Mecklemburg. Pomeranian knights were tough foe, and after several weeks Polish advance was limited to Hinterpommern. But formally Algirdas II was leader of alliance, and once all his castles and cities were in enemy hands, he accepted Bezprym`s peace proposal. Lithuania ceded Grodno, while Mecklemburg province of Hinterpommern.

Last three years of his reign, Bezprym wisely spent on peace and stabilization. King died in year 1449, leaving crown to his eldest son Konrad. During his long reign, he enlarged kingdom by half of it`s previous size. Poland was very close to peak of it`s Power back in XIII century, and after years he was given nickname 'Great'. But his heir would have to face rebellious nobles, and unfriendly neighbors.

Deeds:

- Conquests of Ratibor, Hinterpommern, Grodno, Minsk, Lithuania and Samogitia.
- Diplomatic annexation of Duchy of Masovia
- Vassalization of Bohemia
- Building of first royal vessel
- Final defeat of Golden Horde and Hungary
- Enforcement of Despotic Laws
- Increase of influences of clergy and inquisition

Poland looks awesome, glad it's back in its former glory. I remember what happened last time it was a superpower though. It wasn't pretty.
