Saint-Helena Island is basically located in the middle of nowhere.
(namely, in the center of the southern atlantic ocean, about 1500km West of Angola - departing from the south of that country, go straight west for all those kilometers and you will find the isle).
I is rather obvious the british _didn't_ wanted that Napoleon repeated his earlier escape from Elba...
