hi everybody,

at first I want to say that I really like a lot of your games, especially the CK-, EU- and HoI-series. It is astonishing how diligent you work with detailed historical information like person, events, names, countries, leaders and so much more.

One of my favorite games is Crusader Kings II. I love it!

The only thing that disturbes the right gaming feeling for me are the names (or better to say the translations) of the clerical titles and seigneuries:

temple_duke_christian
Prince-Archbishop
Prinz-Erzbischof

temple_duchy_of_christian
Prince-Archbishopric
Prinz-Erzbistum

temple_count_christian
Prince-Bishop
Prinz-Bischof

temple_county_of_christian
Prince-Bishopric
Prinz-Bistum

temple_baron_christian
Bishop
Bischof

temple_barony_of_christian
Bishopric
Bistum

I know that the english titles have existed in real history. But not in the Holy Roman Empire.

With that said I would suggest you two opportunities.

1st - correct translation draft

temple_duke_christian
Prince-Archbishop
Fürsterzbischof

temple_duchy_of_christian
Prince-Archbishopric
Fürsterzbistum

temple_count_christian
Prince-Bishop
Fürstbischof

temple_county_of_christian
Prince-Bishopric
Fürstbistum

temple_baron_christian
Bishop
Bischof

temple_barony_of_christian
Bishopric
Bistum

no hyphon
the german word "Fürst" instaed of "Prinz"

I could imagine that you wanted to ensure by using the prefix "Prince-" that we have a clergyman who is a bishop and who is also the civil ruler of some secular principality. If you want to maintain this point of view I would recommend you the 1st draft given above.

Mostly all archbishops and bishops had their own principalities, otherwise they were "only" titular bishops. So in the most cases the prefix "prince" is redundant. Also the use of the term "Prince-Bishop" became popular earliest in the 16th century.
Furthermore a lot of bishops had even more power then a lot of counts and earls. It seems to be unrealistic that a bishop were a vassal of a count. More likely both had the same tier. Whereas an Abbot had a minor rank.

2nd - more hierarchical and therefore clearer draft

temple_duke_christian
Prince-Archbishop
Erzbischof

temple_duchy_of_christian
Prince-Archbishopric
Erzbistum

temple_count_christian
Prince-Bishop
Bischof

temple_county_of_christian
Prince-Bishopric
Bistum

temple_baron_christian
Abbot
Abt

temple_barony_of_christian
Abbey
Abtei

So far, so good.

Perhaps it would be an idea to fix the text1.csv with the next patch (of course for the other languages, too.) using my draft one ore two. I would highly recommend this.

best regards and thank you for reading!

ps. Did anybody think about a CK II mod which leads the game in the Baroque Age until 1770? Expressly the options with portraits (wigs, bunches, cocked hats and so on) could be a great expansion.
