Hey everyone,
So after rewatching the last World War Wednesday video I noticed right before you start the game, there is an option you can tick called Historical AI (just below the game difficulty selection options).
So my question is what exactly does it do? I mean, I understand it probably makes the AI choose the historical path in its national focus tree, does it do anything beyond that? And to what extent does it affect the decisions the AI is gonna make (is choosing historical gonna make AI always choose the same path or is there some leeway there?).
Also what about AHISTORICAL AI, what decides the path and decisions its gonna make and how much is it gonna differ from historical AI?

If you look at the nation focuses for all the countries they cover a lot of ahistorical plans e.g. USA has the option to attack (prepare against) Britain, Germany, USSR & Japan. France has the option for the little entente, etc.

If you choose historical gameplay the game is heavily weighted towards following the normal path towards WW2 (but will flex slightly, especially against player actions). If you allow ahistorical gameplay then the world will develop in weird and wonderful ways (whilst still generally heading towards a global conflict)

I'm really looking forward to see how the ahistorical game plays will turn out. Victoria II always gave me a little chuckle with its unusual outcomes. I just wonder how high the probability for a major power is to choose a ahistorical path. If all great powers go nuts, it can get really, really weird.
