Canada produced the following amounts of oil:

Note that during the war years, Canada was a net importer of crude oil.

During the war, Alberta produced the majority of crude oil for Canada.
In terms of HoI4 units, Saskatchewan and Ontario did not produce what equals 1 unit of oil in HoI4. In 1944, there was an "other" location that produced 1 HoI4 unit of oil. All the other oil was produced in Alberta...that is to say, Turner Valley oil field.

1 unit of HoI4 oil = 1,000k barrels of oil. This calculation assumes that 1 Canadian barrel of oil = 1 American barrel of oil (volume-wise, "barrels" can differ)

Though I think as far as Canada's problems in HOI 4 go, I'm not sure how big of a deal oil is. How about first fixing their focus tree so they don't have to decide between either nerfed manpower or nerfed economy?

For all intents and purposes, Turner Valley produced all of Canada's oil during the war years.

10 HoI4 oil is the maximum amount of oil that Canada could produce during the war.

During the war years, the Turner Valley wells were limited to 10,000k barrels per year. That was all they could produce.

The optimistic "opportunity for growth" comment hits up against the reality that the Canadian oil industry maxed out it production at 10,000k barrels per year.

The +50 oil granted by Canada's focus tree equals 50,000k barrels of oil (this correlation does not include infrastructure or excavation tech bonuses)

Canada first produced 50,000k barrels of oil during the Korean War...sometime between 1951 and 1952.

This use of post-WW2 historical data establishes a game design rule for the Paradox developers:

"When designing a nation for HoI4, the nation designer(s) may incorporate real world events that occurred in 1951 or 1952."
