Hispaniola or Cuba?

So I'm playing as Denmark and the year in 1576, I think. I've been colonizing and I own the area that is now New England and am colonizing into the Ohio River Valley. As of 1576, no one has begun colonization of the Caribbean and I am looking into having small-time operations there in the form of colonizing Cuba or Hispaniola.

Which one would be better to colonize? Cuba or Hispaniola?

Cuba has a slightly higer base tax but more aggressive natives. The honest option is both.

The whole damn thing if you can get it. The Caribbean is top-tier wealth. You should be able to get colonial trade goods in every single province for massive tariffs. It's expensive, but hopefully if you've got a successful colonial base then even Denmark's economic situation shouldn't give you much grief. To start, grab Cuba, then Hispaniola; as Dauth said, you've got more taxes (and if you've expanded as far as you say you have then you've got some kind of colonial expedition that can handle the harsher Cuban natives, so the drawback isn't much of one imo).

Go for the Caribbean as hard as you possibly can. As Portugal I got all the islands in the Atlantic before anyone could colonize them and it allowed me to perpetuate my supremacy over the Western Hemisphere throughout the entire game.
