I just found this out in our recent MP campaign. You get choices to recruit SS-Volunteers in most of your occupied territory, as well as giving Himmler Command (turning him into a field marshal). More than that tho, it's like a whole game mechanic with having to balance pleasing the SS and the OKW (the Wehrmacht High Command)

Was this documented anywhere? I completely missed this until now.

If you annoy Himmler enough by supporting the Wehrmacht all the time he will purge Hitler and run Germany.

how exactly do I go about that?

,,,,,do I oppose hitler and intentionally fail or do I go Rhineland etc?

I would be interested to see the change in the general dynamics of Germany through this

It's outside the focus trees.

It's in Decisions about recruiting from conquered locations. You get three options. One angers the Army (you get heavy divisions without equipment), one annoys the SS (I think the "just allow the OKW to get a small number) and I think the middle option is that you can get a generic usually infantry division that comes equipped.

If you keep doing the one that angers the Army they will eventually start a civil war.

If you do the one that angers the SS there will be assassination attempts on Hitler and eventually an SS coup I don't think they do a civil war though. It doesn't really do anything except change your leader.

With the MEFO, I am taking it as soon as it is available each month. That way I have a time cushion in case I slip up and forget to click it. It really needs a pop up warning.

To replace Hitler, when the SS decisions pop up do not take Himmler is a FM. Choose each SS decision one by one and take the Wehrmacht one each time. Himmler will become more agitated and protest. Tell him to pound sand each time. He will eventually start trying to assassinate Hitler. He may miss a few times. If he does, you have an opportunity to replace him, dont. Let him keepbtrying until he succeeds.

The other possibility is going max SS on each decision. That can lead to an amry revolt and civil war, I think. Havent gone down that route, a civil war while at war would be what they call a sub-optimal outcome.
