It's kinda funny how badly I was waiting for Reapers Due to come out and now I can't play CK2 at all without HIP. I'M GETTING THE SHAKES!!

IMHO, Reaper's Due itself (the DLC) is going to be a relatively minor part of what people remember from the transition to EMF+SWMH upon 2.5 to 2.6 and in general of the Hades series (as there is Zeus for Conclave, there will soon be Hades for Reaper's Due). Not having the DLC, you're still going to get a very welcome performance and responsiveness boost out of EMF+SWMH (or, as I prefer, EMF+MiniSWMH, which seems to have gained considerably more from the 2.6 performance optimizations than EMF+SWMH). It also means we've got more breathing room to mod cooler mechanics without worrying about too much chugging in late-game afterward. This works out for me as I'm currently broke as a joke. So I console myself with the fact that even if I bought Reaper's Due I wouldn't play it anyway because HIP isn't updated yet.
i never said vanilla is bad, hip takes vanilla as the base obvioulsy. hip is plain superior. why play vanilla if you can play hip ? wtf... pleb life.Because there's nothing truly wrong with Vanilla for what it aims to be. Yes, HIP adds a lot and I play it pretty much exclusively. But I'd have never gotten into HIP if Vanilla CK2 wasn't such a cool and interesting game to begin with. Don't sell it short.

HIP is pretty well bug tested and ziji has done some really good work with EMF, meaning that in general HIP should be less crashy than other mods.Out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to know the average year playtime people get before crashes start to happen do you? I have a pretty intense computer, however when I played the Game of Thrones mod, after around 400 years I would constantly crash at random months. I'm just wondering how intense HIP (without SWMH) is in terms of really really long term game.
IT'S HERE!
