I won't be negative about it if it happens, but a Fantasy setting or Map Randomizer doesn't interest me enough to warrant a purchase. I never thought i would say that about a CK2 DLC/expansion

U r ebulz.Crusader Kings II: The Holy See Announced
Reign supreme in the new Crusader Kings II expansion
CONSTANTINOPLE – January 28, 2014 – Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games and the highest religious authority, and Paradox Development Studio, today announced a new expansion to the world of Crusader Kings II, the critically acclaimed RPG strategy title. The Holy See continues from where the Sons of Abraham left off. The true believers are blessed with the ability to play any theocracy in the game, including the Papacy and The Ecumenical Patriarch. The selectable starting date is pushed back until the year 1054 to enable the players to experience the beginning of the great schism and the mutual excommunications.
The expansion highlights:
- The great schism: The game can be started on any date between 1054 and 1452. Pick your side in the religious division!
- Theocracies: The players can enter the religious path by playing any theocracy in the game, including Papacy and The Ecumenical Patriarch
- Celibacy: Intrigue and plot a way to continue your dynasty with the celibacy promise.
- Reform Christianity: The Pope and The Ecumenical Patriarch can reform the Christian religion by e.g. allowing polygamy

What of SI?![]()
Those are from the two new game projects that were announced, I don't think they are CK2 related.I am mildly concerned that this may be some kind of fantasy DLC, given all those ice-pictures we got last month. This is very unlikely, of course, but it's worrying me still...

i think either fantasy-esque DLC, playable theocracies or absolute-ish rulers to more accuratly model the non-feudal parts of europe.
Some mechanics to better portray the form of rule in the Middle-East, along with the already confirmed revamp of the decadence system, that Doomdark could not fit into SoA, could also be a pretty good guess. I had already forgotten about that![]()
Asian or African DLC seems out of the question. I mean, come on. It's still called 'Crusader Kings' for a reason.
Again with this narrow-minded interpretation and overanalysis of a game's title. The game's timeline takes place around the crusades, but it could've very well been called Medieval Kings or Dynasty Kings, and no one would've been the wiser. Crusading was never the whole "purpose" of the game; it wasn't even that prominent a feature in vanilla.Asian or African DLC seems out of the question. I mean, come on. It's still called 'Crusader Kings' for a reason.
You just contradicted yourself. How exactly does fantasy expansion or map randomization relate to the title "Crusader Kings"?I'm going with the 'official' fantasy expansion. What else could it mean?
But after reading 'map randomization', I kinda want that now. But I fear it's not going to happen.
........ the game wasn't called "Intrigue Queens".
"Intrigue Queens".
