I've recently seen people swapping national ideas for certain decisions, events etc. I was curious if there are any game-breaking ones that I don't know of, as the only one I'm aware of is the event giving you 2 innovative moves with Patron of the Arts (there's also the Merchant Shipping Act which comes with Merchant Adventures, but I don't know what it does). Do you guys know of any more?

Prestige is like a city wall vs bad events so Patron of the Arts has a HIGH decree of effect, one thing is the nice bonuses - another the lack of bad events + WAY more good ones.

The more military ideas u got, the cheaper military u get. (cost less and less) - Trade ideas are OP - Tax only critical first 100 years of the game.

why does patron of arts give you prestige? and don't you need to have an artist advisor in order to get the good events?
I always get the -10 prestige event for having no artist advisor

On the subject of CBs, QftNW gives the Colonialism CB, which can make it useful for certain countries even if you aren't exploring (I used that to take European colonies for 1 infamy during my Inca game). And of course Unam Sanctum/Divine Supremacy giving the global Holy War CB.

enlist privateers is a good decision as is merchant shipping act (it gives you more trade efficiency) among others. Patron gives you a decision that gives universities that in turn gives an event that gives you magistrates which are always useful. But yeah if you just check the wiki and look around the NI page you will find all the information you need

I like Bureaucracy and it's magistrate boni. The tax is usually quite negligible by the point I have all the more crucial early NIs and a new slot, but you just can never have enough grain magistrates. :)
