I just want to say thanks for all the hard work and for sticking with this project.

I have all HOI games barring the first 1 which I lost the disk a long time ago.

I have always started to play the games but then go on a long wait while most bugs are sorted out.

Anyway, I know this was more of a labour of love than a commercial decision and I really applaud the dev team whom specifically made this.

Just bought it last night and have to say, I cannot wait to play it and am more than confident I will be fully enjoying for a long time.

I have about six new games I have recently purchased e.g. SH5 etc etc that will take a good long time before they are even playable (Yes I am fussy).

This game is my much needed time killer for the next year and I am just very grateful for that.

Anyway back to getting my backside kicked :D

Hi. I've got the same list of HOI versions sitting on my HD and had the same experience with each of them - loved the design, played until about December 1941, then parked the game to wait for fixes that never seemed to come.

I'd be really interested to hear more about your experience with this game over the next couple of weeks, in particular:

1. Does the AI still land single divisions to invade France from late 1940 onward, with no hope of success?

2. Does the Soviet AI now mount a credible defence, or at least maintain a front line?

3. Does the Jap fleet still sail the Atlantic? (I think that happened to me, but it could have been 'Making History', which I played for about a week).

4. Does the US now defend island bases and mount a realistic campaign in the Pacific?

5. Can German u-boats wage an effective campaign in the Atlantic and avoid fleet engagements with the Royal Navy?

I may be picky (and annoying in the forums) but those are all pretty basic requirements for a satisfying WW2 strategy game in my book.

I'm in the same boat - just got this game last week after getting sick of waiting for HOI3 to become a playable game. Only up to July 1940 in my first game (learning the basics with Brazil) so can't yet answer your questions I'm afraid

I just took the plunge. At $19.95 I figure I can afford to take the chance.

It's not about the price (for me) it's about the weeks of evening hours you need to invest before you find out the the Soviet AI (for example, maybe) is screwy. I'm gonna let somebody else learn that lesson for me while I play Achtung Panzer, if some kind soul is willing ;)
