No. Misscasting spells is a part of the game.

The only way you can remove it, is what they intended, cast the opposite of the element you accidentally added. Shield is it's own opposite so every element has one.
Oops, I added earth. Lightning
Oops, I added frost. Fire.
And so on. Hope that helps. Part of being a wizard.
