If it the way it was with EU2 then NA patches are released
later than Scandinavian, since your publisher (Strategy First)
insists on having the game copy protected and thus has to
work on the patch too before being able to release it.

What do you mean by copy protection? Is it possible to copy protect CD's? I'm not too up to date on burn technology, but what exactly does copy-protecting a cd entail?
If you're wondering, no, I dont burn cd's and no, I would never consider burning a licensed product; ESPECIALLY one from such a great developer.

Essentially, the standard copy protections make some CD-ROM drives not read the discs, leading to frustration and anger to the legal purchaser, and not slowing the illegal copier for a second .

Oh and they make a lot of noise because a lot of CD-ROM drives find them difficult to deal with.

The copy protection in this case changes the exe file so it can't run without a retail version of the CD.

Good.

It would be nice if the patch was up before the weekend, but I think we could all survive a game or two with 1.00.

OTOH, will 1.00 saved games be no good with 1.01?
