Would it be possible to use a system of Hexagonal distance for HoI3? I wonder if it would be possible to impose a 'hex' mapping system on the map in the game, so that actual flying distances would have to be obeyed by all aircraft (player and AI). I recently played another of my weird 1936 Germany games, and the Italian air-force sank my battleship! In Rostock naval base no less, lol.

Would something that limited aircraft to realistic flying distances be possible? And would this improve the game? I cannot say how annoying it was to see bombers flying to England from Australia and New Zealand w/o the need for any of their over run and occupied airfields in Africa and the middle east/India theaters.

Any thoughts?

I don't like idea of the range for ships. Why can't my DD sail further as long as it has brought enough supply and fuel?

I found it very odd doctorine never increased sailing distances, the USN was the king of underway supply.

Plus only one kind of transport the whole war? Unarmed at that?

There's a limit to the amount of either that you can fit onto a ship.
Having a sort of supply ship brigade that you can ad to the ships would be cool though.

When you play France, you loss convoys cargos because Germans naval bombers are able to reach the Mediteranean from Stutgart...

It's the air regions problems...
If your planes are able to reach just one province of one regions, every provinces of this region will be struck by your planes...usefull but weird...'-_-...

And a supply submarine too.

Yea, the naval range thing to is weird. Navies could always sail with their replenishment ships and still be restricted to on board fuel constraints, but aircraft can fly halfway around the world without.

it is a nice idea but unfortunately impossible, only if there would be a prov for each hex...

the sollution would be to rework the redeply button, so that you may choose landing strips only in range

in any case the huge amout of provinces would create a more circular area of bombardament (more realistic) and hopefullt there will be many "regions" so that the panes will get pass their range very rarely
