In the maybe 2-4 weeks its going to take me to be done with Skyrim, I'm hoping SotS2 will be ready for me to come back to it and seriously imerse myself in it. ATM its a pretty good demo of a game, can't wait to see the finished product.

Well reading the Bethesda forums right now, it looks like Skyrim is buggy as well. Some people can play it, a few others can't. So I am guessing the Bethesda forums will be crashing down tomorrow. :p

Well if they have it on console, no wounder its buggy. Im getting it on PC tomorrow. I can gaurantee it will be devoid of major bugs for me, as any other Bethesda title ever has. PC is the only way to play a Bethesda game, period.

I'll be getting that on the PC tomorrow too but I am a little worried that us PC users will be stuck with console controls.
All Beths games are buggy upon release, so its a gamble, will it work, or wont it.

One thing I can guarantee, their CEO will not apologuise for the bugs like Martin did.

Anno 2070 all the way for me... But Skyrim was already announced its 1.1 patch on 11/11/11 ;p they love doing that hehe... which is supposed to fix the 0-day bugs. And hey, at least Bethesda didn't release the wrong version... ^^

Anyway.. lots of good games giving Kerberus a lot of "leeway" to fix their mess... but at some point even Anno 2070 and Skyrim are gonna be boring.. and lets hope mods come out for Skyrim ASAP ;p

Skyrim looks like it'll be a lot of fun for a very long. Haven't decided if I'm gonna go for the PC or the Console version, yet.. Bethesda seems to have largely moved on to Console development, which means that their PC ports are sure to be worse and worse compared to the glory days of Morrowind.

Either way, though.. looking forward to it. And a fixed SotS2, of course. :p

With a Bethesda RPG I would always go for PC, just because of the mods. Even if controls turn out to be optimized for gamepads, a wired XBox360 pad is cheap and works flawless (the wireless pads in combination with the PC receiver have problems with a few games).

I've never been much of a mod guy. I like some of the flavor mods in some of my strategy games, but for Bethesda's stuff i've always left it untouched. Honestly i'd be lying if I told you I completed even half of the total content in Morrowind or Oblivion. And Skyrim looks to be the biggest yet.. Really comes down to user reviews. Xbox360 is showing it's age compared to a higher-end PC these days, and Skyrim looks purty enough to buy for PC just for that. Unless the reviews clearly show that the console version is better optimized somehow.

Especially with Oblivion I felt the world itself to be lacking some interesting places or views and mods (Unique Landscapes, to name one) really improved that.

I'll agree with that. Morrowind had the same problem, but when you consider the other RPGs hitting it big on the consoles when Oblivion came out.. they really dropped the ball on immersion. Lots of stuff to do in Oblivion, but none of it ever really hooked me in. Morrowind wasn't much better, but it seemd a lot better at the time than Oblivion ever did.

All that said.. I'm skeptical still. I don't like what they did with the Fallout games. I found them to be boring, and difficult to get in to; as opposed to the old iconic Fallouts 1 and 2, which were a riot from start to finish.

Personally, I think Fallout 3 is much better than 1 or 2 when it comes to immersion. Of course, that might be greatly influenced by the graphics, but even when the older Fallouts (great games still) were fresh and new, I felt them to be too abstracted and superficial when it came to presentation, lore and general immersion.

It makes much more sense to play SotS I instead...did you play with every race? if not, do.

It makes alot more sense to read a book. Read every book there is? If not, do.

Seriously, why look for sense in what clearly is nothing but personal preference? Playing SotS1 doesn't make more sense than watching a movie, listening to music or playing any other video game.

Bethesda games have a really active mod community; it's not the big ones or the fancy castles or anything like that i download. it's things like "make the nights and dungeons dark", or removing the green filter in fallout 3, crafting recipes for things i should be able to craft but aren't allowed to, that kind of thing. little tweaks.

That, too. I liked the magic chest spells for Oblivion, as I found the personal inventory/capacity much too small/low for my own taste. I like dungeon raiding, but not if I have to leave 95% of the plunder behind.
