There is a bug in the 1.01 1066 scenario setup, specifically the scenario_characters file. The problem is that the danish king is from one dynasty, and all his children from another one.

The result is that he cannot marry away his children, and that the only possible inheritance is "elective law", giving over power to a vassal

You`re right, its a bit big. Converted to zip. Beowulf, there is a fix for the danish problem in the bugfix.zip, however, that creates other bugs that i`d rather do witout . Oh, and check out the tooltip mod in my sig, think you`ll like it

I wish I had seen this two days ago. I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong, the forum was down, and I lost about 20 games due to the end of my dynasty.

I finally managed to fix it though.

But keep your shirt on, there are people working on a larger fix.

If your favorite character is affected by this bug, this is what you do:

Locate the father in the /scenarios/1066_scenario_dynasties file, search for his last name. He will have a dynasty id like for instance id=693.

Next locate his children in the 1066_scenario_characters file. Search for first names or country tags. Their dynasty id will be wrong, change this to the id of the father.

Oh, and remember to backup.
