i am in possession of a convoluted mind that loves to complicate matters... i was wondering how the *flag*s were programmed (i.e., the ones that allow england and france to change shields and flags...) - because that would allow us to use multiple shields for as many countries as the software could handle....

....and in case that idea's a flat-liner, how a bout this: is there any way to make multiple shield folders and tell the computer which one to look in for whichever scenario...?

way too much spare time (and a sugar high)

mkj, i was hoping you could elaborate a little bit... thanks for the templates, by the way; i'm just spitting shields out left and right...
:p

vulture, what i meant was: in some other thread, someone wrote about using a (??) program to edit the .exe file to adjust population limits; i was wondering if the tags could be adjusted there too... in other words, i have no idea what hardcoded means...

You can use a moddir for each scenario.

That will change the flag for each scenario, but won't allow the flag to change from within the scenario.


Stephanos, the only other way that a flag change can work is if you use a tag change. That creates all kinds of other problems with event coding, however. You probably knew all of this, but just in case...

...Well...If there was a way to test whether a flag had been set as a trigger, one could swipe flags 5 and 6 and use them for any number of interesting things by relocating England and France to some U?? TAG to avoid having their shields change at strange times. But, unfortunately, there isn't. Too bad :D

Though one could use dummy events as logical flags, I guess. :)
