How can I become an Anglican bishop in the Long term?
Is the Anglican Church now the biggest denomination in Eutopia after the secessions?

1) The GMs can appoint you to a higher post. With no other Anglican clergy on the island (Bogle left and Teano retired, and only one NPC that I know of), it is not unreasonable that you could achieve this position in no time.

Just continue to RP and involve the church in a realistic manner in the game and you may find yourself "called up" to higher service.

2) I think so. A check of the national stats will confirm this, but let's assume that it is. :)

There had been an Anglican Church thread in E2, with church positions on several issues, but it went unsused for quite some time and I believe it has been deleted. :(

What Constitution is Eutopia operating under now? The Sept. Const. doesn't come into force until Term 9 begins. Do we have a constitution?

Also, how would a coalition work? Can two parties nominate a single ticket of GA members and only one president?

Thanks

V.

The Constitution current available in the EUTOPANORAMA is currently in effect.

I belive the question about coalitions (what you propose would DEFINITELY not be allowed) is answered in the README, or at least was answered in an earlier draft :D. Double-check, but I think it is there.

If it is NOT there, (or if it is and I'm mistaken! ) then perhaps I will defer to Melanchton? :D

The new constitution does not allow for joint tickets of any nature.
I Killed Kenny said:
When a party do a list do the VP need to be from THAT party? Or can it be an outsider?
There are no provisions regarding the party membership of the VP. This is because the VP is not an elected position; for CRO-purposes, there is consequently no such thing as a VP-candidate. In other words, a party may choose to run a VP-candidate, but that is informal. The only thing the CRO-office will recognize (and list on the ballot) are presidential and GA-candidates.

A fix for this (if a fix is desired) is to add the following language at the end of article 51(c): ". . . or members of coalitions recognized by the CRO."

Otherwise, I assume the creation of a new party, RP'd as a coalition, would be acceptable?

2 Q's: post count and do rules apply to mods

All OOC: playing as Loic de Fourgéres...

Q1: I have made some replies on the Napier law firm thread, a request at the CRO and even started a thread, yet I am still shown as just a registered user with zero posts. Why is that? Do only posts at the townhall count?

Q2: I notice LoopPolls seems to have started without getting CRO approval, even retroactively. Was this an oversight, or does everone agree that mods can start threads without CRO approval? I am new here, so I am just asking, so I can guide my play here so as to be in sync with local practice.

I'm no Mod but I think I can answer these :)

Q1: posts in the Fun Forums save the History Forums don't count in your post count :)

Q2: Well if the mods give the CRO approval then why would they have to post if they can get approval and then post another time that they give approval :)

As Tulp said, no posts in the "Fun Forums", except the History Forum count toward your post count. This is something out of our control determined by the Paradox people who run the forum. They see this purpose of the forums as promotion and servicing of their fine games. These role-playing games are "extra". ;)

Well, the LoopPolls thread was created by Menlanchthon, a GM, as a "news service". It is intended to provide content and feedback for players as he sees the need for it. All the LoopPoll "employees" are NPCs (non-player characters), and as you saw from the thread, not very friedly ones either. ;)

Generally the Mods/GMs have been able to create these threads without CRO (Mod/GM) approval because:

1) It would seem redundant, if a Mod wants to create a thread he wouldn't need to ask himself if he should do it.

2) In terms of game-play, LoopPolls is not a creation of Melancthon's player character, but is rather a construct of NonPlayerCharacters. It is not so much a Mod-thing as it is a player vs. non-player thing. The thread is for background, not really for interaction.

3) The CRO is really just there to approve political parties, and to a lesser degree some political organizations.

Businesses and other organizations are encouraged to register because it is a good way to alert the Mods that a new thread is desired, but it is not necessary for every player-generated thread. For example, opening a bar or restaurant does not require CRO notification, but some players do it anyway.

I hope that answers your question and makes sense. Welcome to the game. If you have any other questions about this, please ask. :)

To form a political party, look in the README thread and you will see what is necessary to become recognized as a political party.

Because it will be necessary to show public support for your party, it might be a better idea to form an organization first. Simply register with the CRO that you are starting the "Name of your Group" organization, dedicated to Topa autonomy, the rights of the Topa, etc.

As you describe it to the CRO, you can make it general "to promote the welfare of the Topa people" or you can be more radical "to liberate the Topa from their European oppressors".

The "CRO" stands for Chief Registration Officer, and has a special thread. More about this is in the rules. You will likely get authorization and can then begin to develop positions, speeches, etc.

If you get more players to join your effort, you can likely form a political party. It would difficult for you to be recognized as a party with only one person. But even without a party you can attempt to infuence elections, you can make endorsements, and you can give speeches.

Your organization can openly advocate Topa independence. If you openly advocate an uprising or revolt, the government will likely intervene if you cross the line between what is legal and illegal. You can secretly plan an uprising by forming a secret organization (Private thread) and making your plans there.

The best example of this is to go to the EUTOPANORAMA and (you will have to search older threads, perhaps as old as a year) look for the MEOR thread, the Most Enlightened Order of the Revolution. This is an example of how to set up a secret organization and how to plan actions such as uprisings. The players did a very good job with this, until one of their members went too far and attacked the American military base, prompting a US invasion/intervention into the country to hunt them down and wipe them out.

When planning things like uprisings it is important to remember - you cannot simply say "I blew up a bank", you actually have to plan it and explain how you would do it, and then it still requires GM input (there are guards, cameras, silent alarms, all sorts of things that could happen). And you can only control your character, not others - no saying "An army of angry Topa charge the gates!" or "All the tribes rise up to support me!" :). You can try to incite the tribes to a frenzy but the GMs will determine what they actually do, whether they follow your or not.

It is a little different than the Medieval RGP, where you can control many people within your nation. Here you control only yourself, and rely upon you actions and words to control others.

If you really want to go the underhanded criminal approach, do your best to keep a clean face for a while. rushing out and saying you have 50,000 supports and opening a revolt is a swift path to prison or death :D but the powers that be can enjoy a good duel with criminals or violence types if done right.

Not much to add to what heagarty said. :) Essentially, LoopPolls is not a roleplaying-element, but a GM-tool to throw out stuff for in-game purposes. Accordingly, it is run by an NPC (Drew A. Blank) rather than by my actual character.

Additionally (if we want to get technical), LoopPolls would qualify as a company, not an organization, so it doesn't need CRO-approval (same as with all the other companies that have sprung up in the last few days). ;)
heagarty said:

Actually, Drew was just being matter-of-fact. I was trying to find a place to stick a smiley in that post, but it didn't really seem to fit anywhere, so I just gave up. :D

I believe there's a reference in the Readme to OSO and CIS being available to players, and theoretically, IC, their directors would be at the pleasure of the MDIS. SAW, however, is solely NPC.
