As the subject says, I am stuck on this mission.

I have the entire Majesty 2 catalog at this point, up to date and all the add-on downloaded content. I really enjoy the game, the new stuff.

I was wondering, what triggers the Devil's Adviser to appear? He definitely isn't being disturbed by my Heroes (they are no where near that area of the map), at some point as I'm building up my forces he just appears and kicks the crap out of everything. It also isn't triggered by the destruction of the Dragon's Lair, since I hadn't destroyed it yet and I got a visit from both. I never get to the point where I have my Heroes can defeat the Adviser.

So, any advise would be appreciated, and if someone knows why the Devil's Advisor decides to stroll down the map and murder my entire staff I'd appreciate some words on how to NOT do that thing. Thanks for any help offered.

AFAIK That happens in every map that there is a boss patrolling around except with big dragons (i think). So you´ll have to be prepared first because there will be a point in wich they will start raping your town; not the case with the final boss of Kingmaker, though.

How to be prepared?, mmm maybe more tries will make you polish your strategies more and more, wich is, in the end, the way you will pass this map. One thing i can tell you is to leave a good stream of monsters to come to your town so your heroes can level up. Destroy the most annoying lairs only.

Yeah, I keep almost everything up and running, I may trim off two of the Orge Caves, but otherwise I have my guys fighting almost the entire map. They do level up very quickly.

I'll keep at it. Still looking for help if anyone else has any ideas or feedback.

He moves away from his spot on day 80 or 70.

More than enough time to beat the crap out of him, but do try to destroy the 2 lairs around him before engaging him (no point fighting 2 Greater Lightning Elements, even if one is called Greater Fire Element (wish they fixed that already)).

There is a bunch of good walkthroughs for that mission online. What worked for me was being uber aggressive early on: kill the ogre caves by day ~12, kill the werewolves dens by ~20. I'd like to hear how anybody can handle that mission without taking those two types of lairs out early ASAP. With those out of the way I can handle and level up on the dragon (lair worth killing for gps) and the demons (exp fodder, I killed them up early too but in the hindsight leaving them alone may be ok).

Some say (but it wasn't my experience) that the advisor early entry can be triggered by placing some temples. In my case the temples were safe for quite a few days, although around day 75 the advisor started attacking my north-western one, which made me throw my heroes at him and they eventually prevailed.

Btw, I found this mission (and the advisor...) tougher than the last one :)

I'll check online for some walkthroughs.

How much do you think the new material released for digital downloads effects this? I don't remember this being so rough the last time I played it.

Personally I think this is the hardest M2 missions. I got through it by surviving till The Demoon Advisor attacked. (That's not the hard part). I got rid of all the lairs and immediately built dwarves and elves. 10 days before the advisor attacked I researched the hard as rock ability and built temples to Dauros on all the temple grounds. I upgraded all my warriors to Paladins and raided the Demon Advisor. He killed all my heroes except my 9 Paladins and 9 Dwarves. Game Over for the Demon Advisor. Hope this helps!

It is possible that the difficulty may be randomized due to some creatures spawning earlier or later. For example, IIRC an online walkthrough mentioned dragon attacking on Day 30, and for me it happened in the early 20s. If you find yourself being swarmed by some monsters - maybe you are not doing anything wrong, maybe you just got an "impossible seed" (like getting invaded by werewolves in The Wrath of Krolm Kingmaker mission on day 4 :D).

Help with Demon's Advisor mission

You should not attempt to attack the Demon's advisor right away. Focus on the immediate threats near your town, including the Ogres , wolves and small demons. There will also be the Dragon attacks coming from the north. The Demon's Advisor has 50,000 hit points, so your heroes will need to gain several levels and have good armor, weapons and potions available to them. Upgrades and strong town defense are crucial. I didn't attempt to go after the Demon's advisor until I had the temples to Dauros and upgraded a couple of my heroes to. Once the third temple is placed (which is closest to the Demon's Advisor) seemed to draw him out to attack me. So it is probably best not to place the last temple until your heroes are ready to take him on. If you want to know my whole strategy, I wrote up a walkthrough on it here - http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/pc/articles/58996.aspx

Re: Return of Your Majesty walkthrough

You are right Jah, when I originally wrote this series of Majesty 2 walkthroughs I seemed to have neglected the final campaign mission. I was planning on writing it up. Then I got Kingmaker and became focused on writing walkthroughs for those. To wrap up the series, I should include it. Thanks.
