Help with rebasing fighters

Hi-Playing DH-light, US, 10/40. I have a squadron of P-40s at Oahu. I want to rebase them to Midway. But, when I hit the rebase button, there is no Midway listed. I moved carriers to PH and tried to load the P=40s onto them- didn't happen.
I rebased the unit from LA to Oahu. If memory is right it is much farther from LA to Oahu than it is from Oahu to Midway.
How do I get the unit to Midway? Thanks, Hugh Browne

Midway doesn't have an airbase unless you built it, so you can't rebase planes there.
Also, you can't rebase planes on carriers.
