Help with Patching

Hi there,

I am new (as you can tell) I purchased both HOI 2 and HOI 2 Doomsday but I think the problem I have effects both.

I want to patch both and I thought leaping for the latest stable version for instance HOI 2 I picked 1.3. However do I need to install and run all the prior patches or does 1.3 contain the previous?

If I can just install 1.3 regardless of the others then I keep getting some form of error which I can't quite see appear, I think its something graphics file related but I can't tell as it flashes behind the menu when loading and I can't alt and tab to it.

Any help on what I should do or shouldn't be doing is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

You only need the latest patch. You have probably used the wrong patch.

Uninstall, see sticky.

HOI2 patch: http://www.paradoxplaza.com/hoi2_v1.3a.exe

HOI2 DD patch: http://www.paradoxplaza.com/downloads/dd_13a.exe

To prevent the game from crashing, rename avi folder.

Many thanks for your help, everything worked fine.

Admittedly I am a little overwhelmed with everything to do with this. I think my biggest grumble is that no physical manual came so I am having to resort to reading PDFs.

Is there any form of game guide available (in physical buy-off-shelf-format)?

Thanks again for the help, it was nice to get beyond the loading screen this time.

Armageddon?

I picked up the anthology, which comes with Doomsday and Armageddon. I downloaded the 1.2a patch "Doomsday Armageddon" from fileshack, but when I install the patch it installs in a "Doomsday" folder. So, how do I actually patch Armageddon?

Change the installation path from Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\Armageddon to Paradox Interactive\Armageddon.

I just downloaded 1.3 for armagedon. I saved it to my desktop. It will not open, it will not extract. By mistake I had previously downloaded the 1.3a pacth of HOI2 and it did some modifications, so my HOI Armagedon will not open either it says it has a DB error.

Rather than try experimenting, I thought I'd ask for advice here.

Uninstall, see sticky.

Install DD, then Arma, patch Arma to 1.2.

Download winrar, see sticky how to install it.
