Help with Mexican Army

Playing the demo, i manage to save the texas state, and even take back the mexican texas. but when i try to take back some other states, i found that my armies are not enough against Mexico, any strategy guides or tips you recomend

I waited until I had at the least 5 brigades more then Mexico, and better technologies. I started the war in 1846, and ended in 1848 with a historical outcome. I think a big reason behind this, was that I was allied with the USCA, which actually put up a decent fight until they got owned by Nicaraguans.

Promote soldiers for some years

Build an army worthy of Mordor

Attack, put the terrain, navy and cavalry to good use
