[HELP] Steam and the Paradox Launcher

With recent issues on steam I am considering using the paradox launcher more often. But now that steam is offline or has issues I can't seem to find my paradox games as well. I can only assume when steam is offline the paradox launcher is as well?

I am looking for a way to play (all) my paradox games without steam. Can i do this withpout having to repurchase everything I own?

Steam being offline has nothing to do with the Paradox launcher.

Of the icons under your name here Tyranny, Stellaris, BattleTech and Surviving Mars are supported in the PDX standalone launcher. The others are Planetfall and I:R.

I know. But when I used the Launcher yesterday there wasnt any game showing up. Steam was down. And now my launcher works again w my games showing.

So paradox isn't checking steam login on owned items?

No. Doing that would obviate the entire point of the launcher.

I am sorry but I have to point out something. Just to check my theory I ended up removing my steam credentials from my account. Given I have the theory that when Steam goes offline. Like it did twice recently, I am unable to see my paradox games. See here

When relinking it i could see my games again. See here
So then when Steam servers are having issues, the paradox launcher will end up being useless for now. Going back to my original question:

For a start your Paradox launcher is way out of date, the current version is 1.0-beta-48 . Please run bootstrapper.exe from the launcher folders, see if that updates it. Although that should happen automatically every time you start the launcher.

I promise you we have customers who hate Steam, are not even members there, yet can run their games from our launcher just fine. I have no explanation at present for what you see there, but let's get it updated first.

I suspect you are talking about the new in-game launcher, not the standalone one we are discussing here (IMO more properly referred to as a client, like the Steam or GoG clients).

Did you update the client as I described? Any change to your problems?

And again, buying the same game a second time would not change anything. When you buy from us or Steam you get both versions, identically.
