well its actually for the 1792 scenario...but i have acunning plan..what we do is show case our work using the 1792 map etc (because its a lot easier than a 1740 map) after this we can start to work on the 1740 map.

Do the 1792 map i painted on and the scenario files for download...soon
then if we can get a sub-forum we could start to focus more on the more difficult side of the mod like 1740 borders, events, parties etc

hi to all! I found useful info about savoy army of 1747 if you are interested these are the info:

In 1747, under Carlo Emanuele III, the infantry was made of 32 regiments, for a total of 55 battalions. 18 were piedmontese regiments (8 of national ordinance and 10 provincials), wich include 25 batalions, while 14 were the foreigner regiments, which include 30 battaglions.
1 battaglion was made of 800 men.
Total infantry force of savoy kingdom: 800 * 55 = 44000 men
national infantry:800 * 25 =20000men
foreigner infantry:800 * 30 =24000men
The name of piedmontese regiments: Fanteria Aosta, Fanteria Savoia,Fanteria
svizzero Bernese, Fanteria Torino, Corpo Reale di Artiglieria, Fanteria Saluzzo, Fanteria Casale, Fanteria Monferrato, Fanteria Lombardia

the cavalry:

The US Civil War scenario frequently results in a WW1 style war for me - playing as the South I had to turn virtually everyone into a soldier pop to sustain the war effort. However, increasing MP cost and other resources would be the way to go.

Now your comment about the Civil war and converting every POP is the whole problem, try making it very costly to convert pops into soldiers thru high cost in money and some goods like guns and clothes that you cane make very slow to make. Anything to make conversion to soldiers time consuming and costly for anything other than one or two pops at any one time.

As for goods I’m less sure as I’ve worked far more with HOI than VIC but you could experiment with limiting factories to 5 or 6 low profit types and increasing costs and time to build as well as increasing RGO profits. From what I understand the AI tries to maximize its economy to the fullest so if RGOs are more profitable than factories the AI may build few factories.
That will take some trial and error.

Zuck..any comments on the techs for limiting the size of a division? Any ideas for techs, we should just stick to military techs for now though.

the most important techs at the moment we need to focus on are industry/transport and the military, culture can eventualy be worked on but for now we need to get these important techs out of the way.

What do you think of some of the army techs i came up with? they are just rough ideas, but we could improve them. Navy might be as hard as comig up with tech ideas for the army.

For the moment, the map and events are the most important, but we shouldn't forget the techs, as a 18th Century mod without the right techs would be stupid.
