after 2 hours of back nubbing work i finnaly got Europe Done

here are some notes
-i'm not creating Salzburg as it did nothing thorugh out the entire war and is a waste of a tag. :rofl:

-also not creating Ragusa

-Ionian Islands (which currently owns Matla) needs to be renamed to Knights of St. John

CHANGES I NEED TO MAKE

-Palatinate needs to be created in area marked black

-Leige need to me created in Belgium in red area

-Genoa need to be created in Northern Italy red area (sorry about similar colours)

-T-S renamed to Kingdom of Naples

-Lucca needs to be created

-Change Piedmont to Savoy and will be changed back after France capures it

-i need to move the Palatinate north a few provinces

-munster to Austria (they just keep growing)

-screw Holestine put the part of Denmark

-Give the province north of Wurtenburg to Prussia

-Give Venice a border with Swiss

-OOOO need to give sweden Pommeria

Kleve should be part of Prussia
Trier is part of Saxony
Kreuznach, Kaiserslautern and Heidelberg to Rhine Palatinate
Saarbrucken and Weisbaden to Nassau
Braunschweig to Brunswick (a renamed Braunschweig)
Detmold to Lippe
The Dutch border with its neighbours is exactly the same as it is in for example the 1914 or 1861 scenario.
Mecklenburg should have all the land it has in the GC and 1861 scenarios
Anhalt should exist as well as Hesse-Kassel, Mainz electorate, Lubeck, Hesse-Kassel, Hesse-Darmstadt, Saxe-Weimar, Saxe-Gotha, Bremen and Hamburg.
Milan should be Austrian and the Lombardian provinces should be gievn to Venice.
Tuscany should either be part of the Austrian empire or an Austrian sattlite, Parma should also be either part of Spain or a Spanish sattelite.

obviously there are a few things we need to sort out. But they are pretty accurate to me. Siegen and Korbach should be Austrian and Liege should have Liege... :rofl:

Also Sigmarien should be Prussian, seing as it would be pointless to have a tag for a small country that didn't do anything and is practically part of Prussia anyway!

I'm interested in this - in fact I started work on a 1796 map a while ago, just as Napoleon was about to march into Italy......

My focus will entirely be on the Napoleonic wars - seeing as the early start date could result in many divergences and the French revolution might not fire, USA may not form, or Corsica never becomes part of France (a Genoan Bonaparte?)

I can help with general events, map editing, and testing. I'm totally clueless with techtrees - I've just disabled the later factories and railroads for my little endeavour so far.

I've even got a half decent pic to use for Napoleon:

A potential problem I see with converting Victoria to an 18th century mod is the style of warfare. Manpower was not great enough to produce a WW1 style (indeed, Victoria/HOI style) frontline with men in every province from coast to coast. Armies marched and tried to outmaneuvre or outflank each other - victory or defeat in a decisive manner decided wars. Think Austerlitz or Friedland - only exception being 1812 (for obvious reasons) and Spanish partisans. Remember the Victoria engine does not take into account the outcome of battles when determining warscore, unlike EU2.

Having an event driven war is a solution, but it would be rather silly to have "Austerlitz" fire just because that province were occupied - it could have been undefended, and the Austrian army could have outnumbered the French! How would we address this?

ptan 54 nice pic of Bonaparte! That is a fundamental problem with the vicky engine, but i don't think there is any way we could simualte the wars of flanking etc.
Is there a way to make the max troop limit of a division smaller? Perhaps we could have a few tech's that eventualy increase the max amount of troops e.g
- 1000 men
- 3000 men
- 5000 men
Post-Napoleonic thought is moidified to allow the creation of 10,000 strong units etc

we must first work on the map and events first, then we can start to focus more on techs, leaders etc.

Heres a few ideas for techs, the increased parts are incrased slightly:
Prussian doctrine - organisation, morale and shock increased
Artillery School's - allows the creation of artillery attachments
Skirmish lines - organistion, and fire increased
Sqaure Formations - defence and fire increased
The Political soldier - morale, reliability and shock increased
Envelopment or La Manoeuvre - incrased organistaion and speed
Corps d'Armee - organisation increased, max limit of div increased also
Guard du Corps - allows the creation of Guard attachment for cavalry? increased organisation, morale etc

any ideas or comments?

i totaly agree on changing division sizes was gonna ask the same thing, Nap should have division sizes the same its after the Industrial Revolution started so people are moving to the cities.

But it would be unrealistic to have Cornwallis running around America with 100,000 men

just a few minor details.....
Suwalki and Kapsukas should be Polish, and i think Posen should be Prussian. Other than that its a good effort. This isn't a critisism but we can keep on developing the map and including all the major and minor nations, also you should have a look at those rough map ideas i did of Germany including the correct 1792 borders. don't worry about it for the moment we will come back to it later.

ptan 54 nice pic of Bonaparte! That is a fundamental problem with the vicky engine, but i don't think there is any way we could simualte the wars of flanking etc.
Is there a way to make the max troop limit of a division smaller? Perhaps we could have a few tech's that eventualy increase the max amount of troops e.g
- 1000 men
- 3000 men
- 5000 men
Post-Napoleonic thought is moidified to allow the creation of 10,000 strong units etc

we must first work on the map and events first, then we can start to focus more on techs, leaders etc.

Heres a few ideas for techs, the increased parts are incrased slightly:
Prussian doctrine - organisation, morale and shock increased
Artillery School's - allows the creation of artillery attachments
Skirmish lines - organistion, and fire increased
Sqaure Formations - defence and fire increased
The Political soldier - morale, reliability and shock increased
Envelopment or La Manoeuvre - incrased organistaion and speed
Corps d'Armee - organisation increased, max limit of div increased also
Guard du Corps - allows the creation of Guard attachment for cavalry? increased organisation, morale etc

any ideas or comments?



I think your armies will be fairly realistic for the time period as long as you keep the tech relatively simple, meaning don’t give units huge fire and org bonuses with each new tech. Also you should do something like VIP is doing by making it harder to raise divisions to avoid huge armies. Make a division cost a lot in rare goods and increase training times.

If you can manage to keep the armies at realistic sizes then you will have your war of maneuver such as is achievable in much of normal Vic. Just think of the maneuvering that is possible in the US Civil war scenario. And again if nations only have a few units and you destroy those then you’ll have you decisive battles.

What do you think about techs that are unresearchable for the Allies until certain events (defeat in 1805, 1806, 1809 perhaps) fire - this will give the French a competitive advantage.

The US Civil War scenario frequently results in a WW1 style war for me - playing as the South I had to turn virtually everyone into a soldier pop to sustain the war effort. However, increasing MP cost and other resources would be the way to go.

What about goods - many of them would not be producable in the 18th or early 19th century like machine parts - obviously we need to get rid of tanks and planes, but the fundamental problem is that we want to limit industrialisation without making economies collapse - seems very difficult unless you increase the price of steel or other secondary goods.

Edit..things would be a lot easier with a sub forum....how did the TWEP team get one..did you guys suck up to Johan or something? Or did you just ask and they gave one to you? If you ask me we definatl;y need a sub-forum if we want to get this mod going well.
