Help please - LAN game problems

My friend and I tried to create a LAN game between our two laptops. We have the connection set up and we did the scan and it was located...everything seemed okay to work. Once we tried to connect, though, it said we had different versions of the game. We both downloaded the 1.3 patch update though, so I don't understand how we have different versions...

We noticed that when we try to host our own games in the bottom-right hand corner our info is different:

His says: Rome v1.3 (MMRF)

and mine says: Rome v1.3 (NNZG)

is this why it says they are different? And how can we fix this so we can play the lan game?

That's odd... Maybe you two should buy Vae Victis. It not only offers more enjoyability, it may fix your problem.
