Help! No Audio on Monitor Speakers on New Computer

Hello all!

So after building my new computer it was obvious Crusader Kings II was going to be my first game install. Everything worked fine when the sound was coming from the audio out cord from my PC, but at home I rely on these monitor speakers, and for some reason I can't get the sound to work no matter what I try. Audio works fine on everything else including other Steam games. I've disabled all playback devices after right clicking the volume control in the taskbar, it seems like there's something specific with the game that's stopping it from happening. Any suggestions?

Windows 8
Dynex LCD TV
Asus ROG Hero onboard audio

What device is the default sound output set to in Windows? Is the sound still coming out there perhaps?

please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload).
