Hey folks,
I get a weird map bug with the Steam version of CKII (TOG bundle sold by Koch Media, bought in Germany):
A colored (terrain) layer is not properly aligned - but instead offset somewhat to the left, giving silhouettes of coast lines/countries all over the place. This is especially annoying in terrain map mode. For example, I can clearly see the shape of the Black Sea covering up most of the Carpathian basin, and Italy and Greece can be seen twice in the Med.
It appears that the new, expanded map that reaches as far East as the Bay of Bengal is not "the basis" for that troublesome layer - the layer's "countries" stop West of the Indian subcontinent. Have checked the .bmp and .dds files in "map" and "map/terrain" folders - all have the same pixel dimensions. The troublesome layer looks a little "squeezed", though (e.g. the British Isles look "slimmer").
Have tried verifying the local game cache, complete un- and re-install, with and without mods - but to no avail... Graphics driver is up to date, so to speak (I'm running this on a Mac notebook in the "Boot Camp" environment - so I can't really "update" drivers manually if I wanted to).
I'd really appreciate some hints on how to get rid of this. Maybe there is some setting in a text file that can get fixed manually? There appeared to be some other minor bugs related to Steam installing the packages/patches/DLCs "all-at-once", maybe this is where sth got messed up.
Cheers
