Playing as Germany on very hard difficulty. I have some questions about Airforce experience.

My airforce is pretty inexperienced, 1 to 1.5 stars. Are there any tricks to make this work quicker?

I'm using anchored Soviet Union militia for target practice, but progress seems to be slow.

I've tried to attach the aircraft to all sorts of HQs in hope the experience would gain quicker but, no.

My next thing to try is set everything to highest training level and only build airplanes and infrastructure.

What do you do to gain Airforce experience or do we just have to live with it?

Also does the experience percentage have to fill up all the way to 100% to gain an experience star? Because If I'm correct I had like 17% experience and I had 1.5 stars.

Do you lose experience if you have Airforce loses?

If someone wants to explain to me Airforce experience, I would appreciate it.

Each star is relevant to roughly 10% experience, yes. Starting experience is based on the training laws, just like everything else. Attaching to HQs should give the bonii of those HQs, just like in the Army. Usually this means at the Army Group level. I don't know if the opponent gives a certain amount of experience (ie, a tougher opponent means more experience), but it might.

Sounds good, thank you.

I forgot to ask one more thing. Is there a point to attach a general (or what is it commander) to transport planes? Because most of my transport planes are command empty with no commander in charge. Does a commander gain experience in dropping off goods? I guess, I can most likely check that myself.

Any unit with a commander is going to perform better than without a commander.

A commander won't gain experience from transporting troops, but will gain experience if the transport is attacked. I wouldn't put a high-skill commander in charge, but you've probably got a huge surplus of low-skill officers who will be better than nothing in case your units do encounter enemies, and the potential experience points aren't totally wasted.

Setting a higher training level will definitely help with starting experience for any new units you build, and replacements for losses will come in at that higher training level as well. Other than that, about all you can do is attack ground targets to milk experience points. Note that once an opponent's morale is broken, your aircraft will do no further damage and gain no experience from attacking them, so you can't bomb a Partisan unit into immobility and then pound them for the next 3 weeks until they evaporate completely. You need a ground unit to actually eliminate them and take back the province. I also prefer to bomb by day only, so the planes are back at the airfield at midnight when repairs take place.

Attaching aircraft to a HQ can be beneficial if the commanders' traits are suitable. MOST land traits will have no effect on aircraft, but a Supply Wizard will cut down on their supply needs.
