NEVER use autosend merchant. It's better not to send any than using autosend. It will destroy your CoT (by overcompeting) and depletes your money.
Britanny can hardly be considered ally. But you can keep Burgundy for a while, if you know what I mean

i've just realised my mistake, and boy is it dumb.
i said i bought EU2 a while back just to familiarise myself with the game before Victoria comes out, well, thats not strictly true.................................
what i infact bought was Europa Univeralis the original! :rofl:
given that i have been bitching about the interface, and that interfaces 'generally' improve, am i right to hope that Victoria will be significantly more intuitive than EU?

I'm not sure you will find EU2 much simpler than EU the original. Many have a problem at the start.
The first time I played I chose France and just stood still and did almost nothing except investing in a chosen subject. Then after some 10-20 years Spain attacked me and I had to defend myself! I just had to do it so I did it. And there we are, on our may to EU mastery :;
PS In that war I had to give them one province. Then after a while they DOWed me again and this time they had to pay the full price because I was no novice anymore

and dmaned cool it was almost archieving Asian domiantion in my first grand cmapaign.
