Help me pick a nation for a EU3-Vicky2 AAR!

Hi guys, Ive decided that Im going to write an AAR across EU3 and Vicky2. Mainly to give me motivation and immersion so I stick with the game, and also so I can use the converter. It will be a 1399 start.

Ill probably write in a mix of styles, gameplay mainly, but narrative and history book based if I feel the need for certain elements.

However, Im not sure which nation I should pick. Ive narrowed it down to the following choices:

Austria
England
Leinster
Castille
Manchu
Taira
Minamoto

As I cant really choose between them, so I thought I would put it down to a vote by you guys. Anyone have any thoughts?

Anything of Ireland can be difficult, but a lot fun. I don't see Portugal...they could be fun.
But, if I had to choose between what you've listed I say Leinster. Leinster was my actual first AAR, but now in Range's time line its become the second...never mind...its a long...long, long...long, long, long story.

Playing as Ireland is always fun.
But playing Austria or Taira might be more funnier.

My vote is Castille, as they have the most dramatic 'story' 'between' the two games, in history... with whole epochs and events during those two time lines heavily dependant on Castillian history (Final Reconquesta, Discovery of the New World, Spanish Inquisition, Hapsburg Spain, Spanish Netherlands, Colonial Independance, etc..), and would like to see how those events how they play out differently than history would look

I'd go for Castille, simply because like Cornelius says they are an example of how changeable things might be. Imagine a Spanish Empire which didn't decline, and which defeated the British and French!

Second choice would be Leinster though.

I'm a huge fan of Austria, personally. Are you adding any house rules? Like keeping under Infamy, always playing for Missions, etc.?

Well, I plan to play pretty conservatively, and not do anything stupid like French Novgorod or Japanese Castille. I also plan to edit the save game either before or after converting, to neaten borders and the such. Ill probably crank the spread time for provinces up to maximum as well, simply for the sake of stopping messy colonisation.

Go For Minamoto And Spread Japanese Influence world wide while keeping the Shogunate Strong and in Control.

Well, looks like Im playing Leinster.

Ill probably write the first update when I get home from school today. This is going to be interesting.

EDIT: After trying Leinster on a few practice runs, I think Im going to change to Castille. I feel it will make a more interesting read (e.g, I wont spend the first century sitting round trying to some trade with a Mercantilist, Aristocratic OPM that cant send more than 1 merchant a year.
