Playing as US, been trying to hold onto a piece of Ireland I took from UK.
I have all the naval techs, have Level 5 naval base in SC, and probably Level 3 in Cairo.
Sent over my transport and war fleet, the war fleet got in a tusle with UK while transport fleet dropped off troops and made the return without incident.
War fleet won the battle handily, still with 98 ships (DNs and cruisers), but with little org left, so I head them back to SC from middle of Atlantic, where the battle was.
In the ~ 6 hops from there to port, the fleet drops to only EIGHT surviving ships!
Hover-over shows supply at 89% the whole way.
Certainly some ships were damaged, but most were at 70% after the battle.
I don't understand where the attrition/damage is coming from. Surely at top tech and level 5 naval bases, I should be able to send a ship to Ireland and back without it being destroyed from lack of supplies.
