help hoi2 lags very bad

Hi !
since thos morning when i upgraded to windows XP hoi2 lagged i also tryed installing sp2..still lag and i looked,no virusis or spyware related crap

i also tryed 3 diff video drivers

the 52.16s did not work

the 77.77's did not
and some beta ones also did not

my specs are

1.8ghz athlon 2500+
512 ddr ram 400 mhz
128 mb geforce ti 4200

and on this same stuff with the 77.77 drivers yesterday with windows 2k it ran perfect..so wtf does hoi2 have probs with windows xp ??

No. Hoi 2 does not have any problems with Windows XP. However, your configuration does. Windows XP uses much more RAM internally than Windows 2000, which means that less RAM is available for anything else. With only 512 MB installed, this probably means your system is now heavily using the swap file, while it didn't need to do that (at all, or not so heavily) when you were using win2k.

There is one thing you could try, though. Which is to configure Windows XP to use the classic win2k user interface. Chances are that in this mode XP will use less RAM for itself, so more will be available for usefull purposes, such as playing hoi 2

ko i upgraded my video drivers and now it dont lag,and i disebaled some stuff in xp and its running a bit faster as well so ya

You can disable the music and speed up the game greatly. Rename the "music" file "old_music" and see if that helps.
