I have been able to make up a 4 section ship but as you can see the 2 mid sections glitch together. I think it has to do with with the model's frame for which I have zero knowledge in modding and was wondering if someone here can help, perhaps set up a modding resource for others.

Any help or insight would be appreciated,

Im currently trying to figure out the same problem. The problem you have is indeed the Frame of the model. Basically, the frame is invisible and contains the rig and animation. What you see are only the sections of the ship (at least in this case). So you would to adjust the frame and also the sections.

You should look up how they build these ships together in the ship designer, maybe its not hardcoded and you find a file for it or a script which does it and can change that it can have MidA and MidB. Also lookup the fortress it has 4 Slots for building maybe you can modify that for a ship to work.

im stuck with a similar problem. The points where to connect stuff is hard defined in the .mesh files. You can add these connection in the "entity" class but they don't apply very well. Im wating for somebody to make a good .mesh exporter for the Stellaris pdxmesh files, because im to stupid for something like this. Its a bit (LOL) Paradox that they have such an open game environment for scripts and variables and the .mesh files are tight closed like Fortnox.

Can you apply a connector point in the entity class without predefining what connects to it?
