Hi Cardus, Erich_Topp;6;1948 what if he started in 47 instead? Why did you add chemistry to Tunis arsenal? game-balance?

Because some time is required in order to have him senior enough. One year doesn't make a big difference so I would leave to all of you to decide the right starting date.
Regarding Tunis arsenal please have a look at the specialities required in the tech tree. Chemistry represents some knowledge of explosives.

Vecihi
As you can read out of one of the links, he was limited to the "hobby" stadium because there was no one to fund him (and the reason to this was ridiculous). He seem to be unique in Turkish aviation history and is some places credited more than Nuri Demirag for developing a culture of aviation in Turkey. Only judging from all the info on him on the web he must have possessed some descent skills when it comes to aviation technology. One can not just build an airplane from scratch, hobby or not. These guys are rare, especially in Turkey. I think Vecihi should be included, but with a lower skill level than Nuri Demirag.

Anyways, we can lower his skill to 2
I'm still against this. Even with a lower skill.

Brditschka
HB Brditschka is Brditschka himself, as good as at least. I couldn't find a relevant picture for the industry so I went with its founder, owner and engineer. As a TT I would prefer the industry myself, so if you find a relevant picture for it that would be good.

To me he seem to possess aviation skills that is good enough to qualify as a skill 2 TT. Skill 2 is not much, it just kind of says that this TT does something related to what you wanna research, but suck at it. If this industry is not good enough to qualify as a skill 2 TT, then I don't know what a skill 2 TT is :)

According to my links there are not hundreds. These are the aircraft producing companies located in Austria according to that reference, and it seem to be one of the most sophisticated references on the web related to aviation companies.

I was actually thinking about this last night. I consider to include HB-Brditschka. I fully understand he was the main engineer, however, if he were actually given work, the company could have grown. I'm not entirely convinced however.

I'm currently working on a complete revision of the Bulgarian TT's (Yeah, I know I say this for a long time and I'm always like "It's almost done!". I don't know much Bulgarian, and the fact that it is a Cyrillic language and all gives some translation issues... RL is also a factor.), but I'll try to find a picture for the company.

I didn't mean hundreds in Austria, but in the world.:D

Ok, why dont you take a look at other country's arsenal TT added after the development to AOD and consider if they can have more skills connected to them? like chemistry and mechanics.

Alright then. Lets skip Vecihi and include HB-Brditschka :)

Good luck with Bulgaria. Any plans after Bulgaria?

I still have some aviation TTs to include. China, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands, Canada, Spain and Belgium could have some more.

Will also find those relevant for the Soviet break up states.

In addition a lot of aviation TTs already present need an overhaul. A lot of wrong and inadequate stats and bad pictures.

Sounds like a plan.

After Bulgaria, I am going to work on Czechoslovakia, but that is a ways away.

And yes, the Soviet Republics need TT's of all sorts.

hi

was playing a bit with GER (reaching the 50s right now) and some things become clearer if you see it in game, IMO

some notes:

- BMW has some aeronautics, making it useful for researching plane types, is this WAD?

- Dönitz should maybe get naval training?

- Topp maybe replaced by von Friedeburg? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-Georg_von_Friedeburg (and Topp for west germany exclusively?)

- and Manstein (think i have more time in september and maybe mod a bit) but it would be awesome if he would be useful for something. right now i think he's just useful for those hospitals / medic techs

well, keep up the good work!

well, keep up the good work!

OK so you want Topp just for west Germany.
IL think Eric Topp is fully functional for a tec team. It seams for me that with his experience that it would just be a matter of time if Germany survived the war that he would get a important position. I am not saying von Friedeburg is a bad choose either.
We could set Friedeburg in 1945/46 and Topp in 1947, 48 or 49.
I dont think Cardus would allow us to use both.
I hold on to Topp for the time and Friedeburg is a good suggestion. lets hear what the other thinks.

hi Pioniere,

i think besides Raeder and Dönitz, von Friedeburg would be the next logical choice because he was the 3rd CiC of the Kriegsmarine http://www.webcitation.org/5knxngKHM (Raeder -43, Dönitz 43 - 45, Friedeburg 45 - end).

maybe to avoid having too much naval doctrine TTs for GER, Raeder TT could have an historical enddate (1943?)

I think more research should be done on him, but as is, the skill is way to high. Inventing Contact Lenses is nice, but his area of research is not really related to areas of research done in HoI.

Otto Wichterle
Maybe we should try to find an other researcher than Wichterle or maybe we can lower his skills to 3 but that would be a little low for this country.

Why can't it be used? Yet the Armed Forces, which were not around until the 1960's can? Makes no sense.

I had a few names written down, good chemists. I'll try to find them. Maybe Wichterle can be put on hold?

Also, if he invented contact lenses, why was he still wearing glasses? LOL

Think I second this. A more relevant chemist may exist for Czechoslovakia.

Anyways, if you, Maj. von Mauser, are going to take a closer look at Czechoslovakia when you are finished with Bulgaria you'll find out.

LFF has a somewhat bad reputation and committed lot of crimes, those are not so popular as TT from what I know. Yes its sounds exaggerated because what army in the history haven't done warcrimes...
