He has a bastard son but I think it was working when he had him not sure tho. I think where I fucked up is giving him a County and City that I had recently conquered from Rum and it was a wrong type of demesne holding I think. I think that's when I couldn't nominate him, I revoked the titles but I still cant. Anyone know what's going on?

Landed him w a proper Byzantine county and appointed as commander. Still weird it happened in the first place I guess
FYI, Sometimes you can fix weird succession issues like this by exiting the game and reloading your save. (This forces the game to recalculate all succession, including candidate eligibility in elective-type monarchies.)
