FWIW, I have at least 40 10v10 games in with maybe 4 game crashes total. No offense, but it isn't the servers.
And you know that how? No offense, but if users got kicked from our servers at work 1 in 10 times, our customers would be up in arms, but you accept such failures as normal? I connect to Paradox servers, YouTube servers, email servers, Steam servers, various MMO game servers, Facebook servers... And most tellingly of all, I connect to ALL of the private hosts of the game, Steel Division, Red Dragon and Wargame and NEVER EVER had a connection drop. But I never once completed a 10 v 10 game on Eugen servers. Not a single time.
And in SD I've tried three times to see if they improved it, and never even completed deploying my units at the start of the game.
Dunno what type of server setup they run, but they're crap. So maybe you should be questioning how much RAM are in these servers, what processors, what OS, what bandwidth they have on their Internet connection, rather than questioning players who point out that these 10 v 10 games are broken. And before you wonder how it's possible for their servers to be poor, believe you me, it is. I've worked with big organisations who have lower bandwidth on their Internet than I have at home, and they share it with 100s of people in the office. They have crappy proxy servers, and application servers still running Windows 2003.
They are a small company, and don't even employ people to moderate their game chat. Why should we assume they invest in powerful server infrastructure?
If they did, then everyone would play on their servers (as all MMOs for example), but they don't - the vast majority of games are hosted on the private PCs of players, never touching the Eugen systems. How is it possible for ordinary people to host 4 v 4 games on standard spec PCs and home Internet connections without problems, and the host is also playing the game? Have you ever seen it suggested that to host a game you need masses of RAM and extremely powerful processors? So I assume most hosts don't. And the games play fine. Except on Eugen servers.
