Goodnight! I write this in order to give some observations and provide possible ideas that may be useful for you now or in the future.
-The first thing I want to say is that for the DLC of Syntethic Down machine empires should have their own designs of ships and cities, besides being artificial intelligences should be able to develop special terraforming technologies that allow them to colonize barren planets or wilderness worlds since they do not need water or a special atmosphere to survive.
-Ideas: New species.
Like the artificial intelligences and the plantoid DLC, these species should have their own style of ships and cities:
-Species marine: A species based on marine animals, this town developed in the depths of the ocean.
-Demoniois / Specters: An example of this species is one of the extraterrestrials that appears in the TV series "Ben 10" his name is "Ghostfreak". This species would have a special type of planet that is generated in the farthest part of the solar system, a cold planet with low luminance.
-Curities based on energy: Based on the extraterrestrial entities of the film "Titan A.E." They are beings constituted of pure energy, their technology is also composed by the same type of energy that makes up their bodies.
Special technologies:
-I have seen the incredible technologies that fallen empires have, their buildings are simply incredible and I think that when a player conquers a planet owned by a fallen empire, he should be able to reverse engineer and unlock the possibility of building these buildings in all their worlds.
-Super advanced terraforming technologies: If an empire is capable of creating Gaia worlds, then theoretically it should be able to terraform any type of planet, being possible to colonize gaseous planets or toxic planets, this would be interesting that the technology was very expensive but that there was something similar.
-Move planets: How many times have we not heard stories where the aliens have so much technology that they have been able to move two or three planets to the same orbit? If an empire has the ability to build colosus or dyson spheres it should be able to do this to show its power and better manage its colonies. It's just an idea.
- Weapons of mass destruction: A mega structure capable of attacking distant planets: interplanetary missiles, long-range energy cannons, destroy suns, destroy complete solar systems etc. etc.
