Hello, a few questions

Greetings, multiplayers, this is my first venture into the Mp forum, the idea of a MP game is starting to hold some appeal for me, but I was wondering, how is it possible to get everyone to agree to meet at the same time? Everyone has their own commitments, and given the long, long long time it takes to complete a game, does anyone ever manage to finish one? Can people join a game in progress? Are there any games that are ongoing, with people coming and going, different people playing the same nation as people come and go? I'm sure I have more questions, but it's 3 am and I need some sleep. I would be most interested in trying out a MP game. How does a HRE minors-only game sound?

There are a number of ways to complete a game.

1) You play with the same players repeatedly and regularly till the end. This can and does happen. I would say there are about 20 players I know of who are almost constantly playing or ready to play. However, you need to be online all the time and ready to play perhaps 4/5 times a week including long sessions. They are the hardcore and deservedly so, organizing future games isnt a problem as ICQ will let you know when you are all ready.
2) Alternatively you can play with a set group of 6 players who meet up a set time every week and play out a campaign. This is difficult but with decent reliable players it can happen, it just takes a long time and a lot of organisation.
3) Or you play with a pool of players with guests joining for each session. You may have 8 long term players but if you have 4/5 of you then add a few guests from vnet and you can continue.

I am coming up to finishing my second game now. First with anyone I could find and the second with a loose pool of players. But this has taken a lot of time and effort. I know that Prince BuB and Guardian alex have a very good record in North America and have really driven some games very hard.

Due to the length of campaigns, players drop out and are gradually replaced or there is a change in nations. So joining in games in progress tends to happen a lot and is very worthwhile unless you are playing with the conquer the world crew, although there is surprisingly little of this going on- tends to be players as opposed to groups of players. I played a lovely game last night with Nathan or Monster X, were everyone was playing extremely realistically and responsibly- I’ve never seen so many vassals!

I’ve heard lots of talk about a german minors game but never actually played in one.

If you want to join a game and realistically get it finished then you will need ICQ

Tried my first MP game yesterday, and boy, it was a blast! Totally breathed new life into this game for me, it was so much fun with real brains controlling my contemporaries. Great crew as well, honour was the watchword of the game, no one was acting like an ass. I definately will be appearing on valkyrienet more often!

Glad to see another new player! I often browse Vnet looking for a game and will look for you there. I've played with Prince Eugene a couple times too.
