In roman tradition father had almost unlimited power for own childs. They had the right to rejected legality of newborn child (ius exponendi), sell as servi loco (half-slave), kill (ius vitae necisque), sell as normal slave (ius vendendi), send to private prison (iudicium domesticum) etc.

So in CK2 also fathers in Hellenic religion should have more powers for own childs.

1) Delegalization of child. With event about "childbirth" hellenic father have option "this isn't my child" (lowborn).
2) No "tyrrany points" for tyrranic interactions with own, legal childs.
3) No "Kinslayer traits" for killing own, legal childs.
4) Option "sell into slavery" for my legal child.
5) Adoption. Lowborn child can be part of my dynasty.

To avoid too great exploism - the most important penalty should risk of religious sanctions (piety cost, priests unhappy, lost of MA if king/emperor and too many clicks, excomunication etc.) and military rebellions

Adoption sounds fair though, as long as it gives child your dynasty but not assign you as it´s father. And ofc there cant be a real/known father....

Gaius Octavius Thurinus was adopted by Gaius Iulius Caesar in situation, when father of Augustus was knowed, legal etc. and this was Gaius Octavius.

What kind of events? And how to justify Religious sanctions when this was common practice?(Except for game balancing!)

Ok... But you said Lowborn yourself? Maybe giving them a trait to exclude them from inherit other than if being elected? IE they are not inline for Gavelkind/Primogeniture/Ultimageniture or Elective Gavelkind?

In praxis power of father was limited by customs and public opinion. Abuse of rights led to the blocking of a political or economic career. But in CK2 for political or economic career customs and public opinion have other connections that in roman times. So only for game balance is this needed.

And what kind? I don't know Im not expert about "do this will be good sanction", therefore I wrote very generally. Pdx have own experts "what should be done to interesant and good events as sanctions".

Game logic and Balance are the main obstacles for this suggestion-thread

Both:

• Adding interesting historical features with a historical/unjustified penalties for balance
• Adding unbalanced historical features

is likely worse then ignoring the feature in the first

You know - this can be part of separate doctrine or nature for reformed hellenic paganism. Especially that the new reformation allows the feminization of religion and here "patria potestas" would be... unnormal
