I hope you guys/gals at Paradox really read these posts. There are some excellent suggestions here. My big wish: Helicopter Services!
1) Public Safety helicopters to aid in police calls, fires, emergencies.
* This could be a cool indicator of high crime areas, too.
2) News media / traffic helicopters to fly around heavy traffic, crimes, etc.
* This could be a cool indicator of heavy traffic areas, too.
3) Tourist helicopters that provides flying tours around the populated areas of the city
* This would provide a really cool opportunity to 'hop a ride' with a 1st-person camera,
and tour the city yourself from the air without having to 'control the ride' yourself--
just lean back and enjoy the ride!
First, create a 'helicopter terminal' (much like bus terminals) to provide the helos. Possibly give the user the ability to create flying paths for the touring helos (or let that AI figure out flight paths-- possibly based on higher-land-value areas). Possibly require a minimum of 4 land tiles to enable the helo terminal?
