I agree totally. Belgium should be there both as playable for that year and formable.

The one they used is actually the first flag of Romania (or the United Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia - Wiki), you can see it here from 1848:
So actually they were pretty accurate, more so than I expected. Well done Paradox!
If we're still requesting states, I'd like to request that the principality of Theodoros be added in. Mostly to get rid of the "Greece in Kaffa" sillyness.

Is there any plan to add the other Crusader states in as releasable? And maybe there should also be a generic "Palestine" or "Kingdom of the Holy Land" or something: after all, what if an Orthodox country takes the Holy Land and wants to release it? Or if a Muslim country wants to release it?

Indeed. Something like Theodors, Kingdom of the Bosphorus or whatever. It always annoys me when Greece do spawn there...

Also when you put Theodoros in, for Gods sake, please put a Byzantine core there.

It should have a Trebizond core instead of Byzantine actually, but both should have cores on the province.
By the way, Belgian States United would be the most exact translated name if included in game.
And IMHO, cores should include all Treaty of Arras Provinces, that is french low countries (Artois...) as well.

I agree. And next to the united states of Belgium agrument there is also another argument.
In 1815, after the congress of Vienna, there was a lot of miscontent in the southern (belgian) parts of the Netherlands against the rule of Willem. There were religion, political and economical difference which led to the indepence in 1830, so it would make sence to add Belgium in Europa Universalis. The following provinces should be needed:
Vlaanderen
Antwerpen
Brabant
Hainaut
Liege
A part of Luxemburg (<-- that would have been completly Belgian, but after the truce with Netherland, Luxemburg remained in the hand of the Netherlands)
Missions like reconquering Luxemburg, Artois, Picardië and Calais would be fun too.

Belgica was a general term for the lowlands, and sometimes it referred not to current Belgium at all, but only to the United Provinces (more or less the present Netherlands).

Yeah, I know, friends of mine gifted me an old lion-shapped map of Belgium in the old sense: lowcountries.
But if Netherlands is formed and/or only Flemish and wallonian provinces are owned, I think for the sake of historicity (see Union of Arras, United Belgian States) some sort of Belgium should be in. After all, we have Germany, Romania, Greece, HRE...

It would make historical sense, I agree. But state culture is a problem. All EU3 country tags are associated with a single state culture, but whether you put Belgium in the Germanic (Flemish, Dutch) or French ( Walloon) culture group, I think you're bound to upset people

About Romania - it should be something like this I think. Mixed from coats of arms of including countries. Just like in the modern coat of arms of Romania

It is actually not difficult to implement it symmetrically. One way is the following.
1) create the files for the country and associate cores to the provinces;
2) create 2 decisions for the country, one to fire if the country does not accept culture B, has at least a core province of culture B and culture B makes up more than 5% of tax income, making B accepted, and vice versa.
So Belgium can come into play by revolt or liberation of a vassal, has the primary culture of whatever city is its capital, and automagically gets the other one accepted.

Actually the Romanian identity existed back since the start of the game atleast.
The only thing keeping the Romanian principalities from joining each other were foreign powers not wanting to have a stronger Romanian unified state next to them.
There was even a whole school of thought in Transylvania about a unified Romania in the 17 and 1800's.
In WWM I made it so that Romania does not need cores to form, like it should be. If Wallachia annexed Moldova and called itself Romania, there would be no problem at all, no revolts no nothing, because the Romanians were actually desperate to join each other.
Well, I must say I'm not the most competent personn regarding history of romanian national consciousness. I guess you are right. Haven't heard much about such national consciousness before XIXth Century, but indeed I'm way more familiar with belgian national consciousness (old sense i.e. Low Countries, as I'm from french Flanders, it's sort of my homeland).
Soooo, if newly implemented Romania did have national consciousness in HTTT time frame, it's another reason to implement a belgian state. All the more since it existed independently for a year before being crushed and that all in all, Austrian and Spanish Low countries were very autonomous. It was merely a personnal union rather than a foreign administration.
