At first glance it might look like this Flea is about to pick a fight it can’t win...

...BUT WAIT!

What is that Weapon’s Effect building up just below the Large Laser Beam? Could that be a 4-Critical Space COIL-Small? And with those two Targeting Baffles, just HOW many “Purple” COIL Chevrons did this Flea build up?! Is that Annihilator’s Left Torso about to be obliterated?

These questions and more we will soon be in a position to answer for ourselves.

Tomorrow... TOMORROW... HEAVY METAL will be released into the wild. I can’t wait. Tomorrow, Thursday the 21st of November will see Free Update 1.8 released alongside HEAVY METAL. We’ll also have two live-streams from HBS tomorrow, noon and 5:00pm EST. (http://twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive)

I hope to see you in chat for HBS’s Livestreams and of course in BATTLETECH Multiplayer Lobby for some finally “SEEN” Big and Stompy Mech Multiplayer Action.

See you there!

And as ever, good luck and soon enough... good HEAVY METAL gaming!

I know that Flea is doing some damage, but there is still something about a Flea, standing close and center to an Annihilator, that makes me fear for the little guy.

One can only hope the Flea has a compatriot... a compatriot much more likely to draw the attention and ire of the Annihilator’s MechWarrior!

But that is just it... WHY run so danger-close to 100-tons of Death Incarnate to fire a LARGE Laser? Surely there is more to this story! : )

Surely our Flea pilot has a wise Lance Commander who reserved them down to the last phase, so that they might deliver their damage and then Sprint away to safety once Phase 4 rolls back around?

RIP Flea ~ it turns out the Annihilator was a Master Tactician, had a Cyclops (with Battle Computer) in its Lance, and had employed Vigilance!

I know that Flea is doing some damage, but there is still something about a Flea, standing close and center to an Annihilator, that makes me fear for the little guy.

Given that the Annihilator could fold the Flea into a paper airplane with a melee attack, that light pilot has *terrible* judgement.

yeah I think i will go through the campaign again just for the memories, I would love a flashpoint for house Arano :)

That would be very cool.

Would also allow for those that haven't/didn't complete the campaign and just jumped straight into Career Mode a taste of the what the story was about.

I know that Flea is doing some damage, but there is still something about a Flea, standing close and center to an Annihilator, that makes me fear for the little guy.

At least he may have solidly bloody the Annihilator's nose before he went.

And he'll have a helluva story to tell Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates . .

"Dude! Dude! you won't BELIEVE how I got here!"

FINAL PROTECTIVE FIRES!

If this Bull Shark had been the one with a Thumper, I would be considering whether it was worth it to catch my own Phoenix Hawk in the blast radius of Thumper Fire if it meant hitting the Enemy’s thin-skinned Annihilator, Rifleman and Assassin BattleMechs...

...should I or should I?

HELLS YES! That is the very definition of the Command Decision to call in Final Protective Fires or not.

So, it’s finally here. Later today HEAVY METAL and Free Update 1.8 will be released into the Wild. From the latest Tweet, release will occur at 1:00pm later today. The HBS Release Part begins an hour earlier at noon EST at http://twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive

I hope you have the time and opportunity to join us there! : )

Ya know, either i didn't notice or it wasn't shown . . .

Does the non-Thumper Bullshark still have the shoulder pads? I know it has the mortar tube when equipped with one but can't recall if the shoulders were still there . .

Random thought . . do the shoulder pads house missiles, thumper rounds or both . . .

The Bull Shark's side torsos, least for the one with the thumper, have a pair of missile and energy slots each... and yes it still has the shoulders which I believe are meant to be weapon mounts.

That's based on the memory of the one twitch video I bothered watching... lot of time wasted waiting for those important bits.

Soooo, COIL guns are basically going to be similar to the Wizkids RISC gear? In the sense that they allow very small mechs to deal OBSCENE amounts of damage?

I know COIL guns gain power as they move, but how much? It goes from 20 dmg to 200 dmg?

The Bullshark looks like the unwanted red headed step child of a King Crab and MadCat MKII that was born with the Persian cat gene for its nose.

Its both really cool and kinda derpy lookin.

EDIT: And I thought mech cockpits were cramped. If im honest, the scale of these mechs make the cockpit look like they are an entire fully furnished studio apartment up there. Even on the small mechs.

Soon, I have will have the Annihilator, destroyer of everything until they move out of line of sight.

Inb4 that little Flea standing at your feet is now spotting you for an incoming artillery barrage from an even bigger destroyer of all the things that destroy.

35-Damage per Evasion Chevron. Depending on the Mech, especially now that the Chevron Limitation has been removed, COIL Damage can really rack up quite fast.

Chevrons removed? Wait, so you could just run around like a headless, drunk idiot, gain like 50000 dmg and nuke an enemy?
