From my MP experience, usually Europeans are square in the middle, and game times are either too early for North American players or too late for Anzac players. As a Canadian, I envy you Europeans for your perfect timezones.
Was everyone who'd signed up to the HoI4 game meant to have shown up for the HoI3 one? I didn't intend to due to RL committments and I hope there wasn't an expectation for me to do so. If there was then it would've been nice to have had it communicated better... Personally, for a HoI3 one I'd recommend a different thread and PMs to everyone who's shown an interest. I know a good deal of us, myself included are likely waiting for HoI4 to drop before going for the roleplay.
Anyway, early days yet, word of mouth etc will ensure it will grow I'm certain.
The interest in the game has nothing to do with this. It doesn't matter how well you organise the game, you will still have the issue of time zones. Unless you're going to be playing with no lifer's then it's impossible to have everyone on at reasonable times. No one wants to play in uncomfortable hours.
What we suggest is to take our experiences of that game and plan accordingly so as to have american and western european players in one lobby and eastern european and asian players in another. Waiting and saying "it'll work!" won't fix anything.
Cool, I'm glad we're on the same page. I'm just trying to help out here, sorry if I sound a bit fed up alreadyI agree with the synch of time zones however I was refering mostly to the low number of players. When HOI4 comes out, there will be so many players interested in MP that it will be enough to fill many countries in many different time zones![]()
I agree. This is a HOI4 MP thread and even though HOI3 is a great game, many people don't play it as much or aren't as interested in comparison to an HOI4 MP session.
When the game comes out, we will start organizing the sessions in a more detailed manner, taking into account time zones, schedules, language barriers, etc. Don't worry so prematurely, HOI4 MP will work!
This has been a public service annoucement
Long live the Greater American Empire!
But at least once a month a world game should be conducted this helps us a lot
No, unless we have free spaces in one game there can't be spectators. Will there any possibility to spectate the game?
Why there is an Eastern Europe and a Western union split ? Timezones in Europe are acceptable .
Please guys, if you're going to post your time zones then do it on the steam discussion. We already have the timezones of the 10 players who signed up for the failed hoi3 game, it's just that we need to copy those over to the new discussion and add the other 20 somethings players to the list.
