When you have teams, why do you need role-play?The game will be interesting, because everything is open and everything can happen in this geopolitical-war- and role-play-round ^^
That's correct you don't need role play in a game like this. I will be fine if people are not pretending to call me from their 'fuhrer' bunker and 5 people running each nation into the ground not to show up for the next session. Seems to me this roleplay makes it less about playing the game and more about saying to eachother 'Mr. President we have a problem Mr Whats his face lost connection again'
And i will not be in this role play game which apparently has teams and more then 1 person running a country. But have fun trying to keep a game of 20 of the same people together.
With all due respect Mr. President.

Why not just have a Historical War Entry Game? No War until Dazing, Italy enters war after Paris Falls. No invasion of USSR until 1941 no US entry until Pearl harbor, Ect.
This sets up a nice fair 3v3 game by end of 1941
I think I will Roleplay that I am a player setting up a Historical game with war entry rules.
If you want to dress like a general while playing, that is fine too
with all due respect Mr.Presidentok thanks
bye bye
That seems like it could be potentially game wrecking, so I would vote no.Okay, another topic: What's about espionage and treason? Do we wanna allwo it as part of the role-play or is it to unfair?
I mean things like for example: General X doesn't like his country/leader due to reasons, so he goes to the enemy leader and give him informations about troops, plans etc.
Well, yeah. A big part is about role-playing... It's not just playing the game. I think you don't get it.
Thank you.
there is not even a need for roleplaying if you decide to go historically
it will just be reading a history book.
the whole idea of this is " WHAT IF "
hope you understand sir![]()
You should have each player roleplay 1 nation.
And you don't even have to buy a game to role play, you can sit on team speak and say 'Yes Mr. President and thank you Minister Diago'. 'Just do improv, no game needed. '
But to each their own, Like op said its more about playing dress up then a game. As far as games with historical war start dates you can prosecute the war in anyway, its just to have balanced teams in a real game. Anyone can be Germany and kill the denmark player, as not all nations are =.
Anyway no point duscussing game balance in a thread about improv acting. To each their own.
A game like this with allot of people controlling one nation will not be going long, it doesn't work well in HOI3 and it wont work well in this.
'Have fun though Reichsmarschallllllllllllllll :/' Leermeister yells into his phone box.
with all due respect WHY THE HELL DO YOU EVEN CARE TO REPLY ON THIS FORUM ?
i'm sorry for yelling at you
and you might as well get your eyes checked as you cannot even type a name with the correct spelling even after looking at it.
have a nice time playing the game and will have fin acting.
and thanks for your suggestion none of us will have to buy the game so thanks a lot for saving our money

'Sorry your names not that important to me Diago, I do not need to worry about spelling it. Just pointing out it would make more sense to roleplay as leaders of 1 nation instead of having 3 people run each nation here in reality. If your going to have fuhrer bunkers and Oberkommandos why not just play a historical game with teams, you can still act.'

I might agree that 5 people can be a lot on a nation but if this is still going strong at release i cant see that it will be anything but fun. Ofcourse you might want to have a book to look at from time to time the first couple of years as the US, but then again you can use that time to forge plans internally and contemplate ideas. You can use a LOT of time inbetween MP games planning, in this case you can do a lot in the game.'Sorry your names not that important to me Diago, I do not need to worry about spelling it. Also playing 2 persons on say Japan was great fun in HoI3 i cant see why it wouldnt be the same in HoI4.
Agreed, having more people on a country could also make it possible to swap between players. But yeah otherwise i agreeYou can also role play and use time in-between matches to do the same with your allies, Italy and Germany for example. Should be no more then 2 to a major nation--- 2 fronts, game will not be that complex for 2 or more people to manage 1 nation. And it is unrealistic to think that you will be able to keep a game together with so many people, and half the players have little to do in a single country.
People will quit and leave the game. It is hard enough keeping 5 or 6 people around especially in Sunday only games, Let alone a game where most people have little to manage every session.
