If the game wasn't played on speed 4 and every thing would be micromanaged then we wouldn't have seen any action we would just have seen a build up to the war that might have fired at the end off the stream now at least we got some action even when it was sometimes hard to watch .

IMHO, to rushed and not enough planning prior to stream (yes this does help tremedously).

Hope PDX takes note on who should not be on a stream. Karl just did whatever he wanted, with not much reasoning or talking with his coop partner.

Sucks alot of people are sick 5 days before release of the game.........

I was a bit curious how TLZ managed to lose his mainland in the previous multiplayer stream; I guess today's session explains that to some extent :p

(not meant to be a critique; tunnel vision is a thing I get too, and it's only prudent use of pause and slow speed that helps me to cope with it and keep eye on overall state of things. at high speed and no pause it takes tremendous mental fortitude to keep all plates spinning)

Sigh. Message settings please. I know a pop-up was missed anyway, but everytime I see a player in any of these streams missing a major engagement or something similarly bad, I always think: that's going to happen to me without the ability to set message settings.

At this point I think I'll just play Stellaris (which has its own message settings issues, but at least there you are managing a much smaller number of units and it's a lot harder to be surprised by something) until we have similar message settings as in HOI III. If that's release day, great. If not, I'll wait. There's no way I'm wasting my time playing without them. Needing to hyperactively scan the map because the game won't tell things like a unit is under attack or has arrived somewhere isn't my idea of added difficulty.

Or you know, the game could just tell you that your unit is under attack. No need to pause and stress constantly that you're missing something.

I would if I thought it would end any type of speculation, but I don't think it will. So I'd rather try and produce enjoyable streams. :p

<----- cknoor posted this after somebody said in the previous discussion that "Game is too easy"..

I just hope that this stream was not the way of "producing more enjoyable streams" :/

Well on the righ side there are messages that you are under attack, missing supplies and so on. But it also depends on your intel, if you don't have enough of it, you won't know if there is an attack or not. Then it is up to you to pay attention to it.
Tbh it is not about messages but about pausing the game or playing more slowly.. In eu IV or ck 2 you also don't have messages poping out when somebody attacks your army, castle, whatever..

Considering that the stream was hosted by two substitutions that lacked streaming experience, the whole process was plagued by technical problems, and cknoor was publicly acknowledged as not being pleased with the situation, I would say no. They were clearly trying to do what they could for the stream considering the circumstances.

Edit: I thought the whole thing was fine overall, especially for a pair of people inexperienced with streaming.

Da9L we need you back! Zeke and SteelVolt just messed eveything up...

In a defense of them I think it is not their fault completely. LTZ has not played the game for weeks and both of them are not used to Streaming and explaining. Even Daniel said that it is hard to focus on playing and also talking. And also in different language than you are used to. So these factors affect the game so much. And because they were playing at speed 4 for whatever reason, they simply could not manage to play properly. I bet that most of players would not handle playing USSR at speed 4, explaining and showing off things.
But then it is a mistake of the whole stream or mistake of somebody who had the idea of playing the game as we' ve seen.

You do have those exact messages in CKII and EUIV actually. They just aren't turned on by default. The first thing I do in any PI game is go in and change all of the message settings to the way I want them. Stellaris was the first game to not have this option at all, although past games have varied in exactly what kind of messages you can get.

Of course they were playing the game way to fast and they could've done 100 times better if they would've played the game much more seriously. And also of course no offense against TLZ and SteelVolt, they're great guys. But it's still a fact that they failed miserably. I mean, to turn the mighty Soviet Union into a tiny Russian Federation that's a puppet of Sweden in two years? Haha, that's most certainly a fail.

I found it very much entertaining. It displayed well how challenging it can be to keep focused and how easily you make mistakes - happened to me more than once in HOI3 as well. I do not understand why everybody wants a perfectly polished stream - if you want that, wait for some professional youtubers who upload their vids after cutting and so forth. That was life at its finest and I loved it. Thumbs up for the Führ.. ähh fun =)

Or you know, the game could just tell you that your unit is under attack. No need to pause and stress constantly that you're missing something.
That strikes me as rather poor idea for any country with more than a few divisions -- with a war or two going you'd be getting constant spam of notifications that'd lead to ignoring these reports sooner than later, defeating their very purpose?

I was thinking this, too. The Eastern Front would've been hell for them, notifications constantly
