Is it possible for the developers of Hearts of Iron IV to make a patch that would add a World War I scenario after the World War II DLC materials are done?
So far, only USSR and the nordic states (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) as well as Italy and South Balkans (Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey) seem to be left for a proper DLC.
Maybe there are some countries such as Belgium, Mongolia, Siam and Dutch East Indies that also deserve an unique focus tree but apart form these 3 hypothetical DLCs that seems to be pretty much everything that a World War II scenario can offer.
What if, when World War II is done, the developers start working on a World War I scenario? only minor changes are needed. Not as a mod but as an integrated part of the game.
Major powers:
1. France - the leader of the Entente
2. Britain - who guarnatees Belgium
3. Russian Empire - ally of France
4. United States - who came in later
5. German Empire - ally of Austria-Hungary
6. Austria-Hungary - who started it all
7. Ottoman Empire - who hopes to beat Russia.
While World War I was mostly in Europe, it wasn't fully in Europe, there were fights in Africa, Asia and even in the seas of South America.
As for DLCs, they almost write themselves:
Hour of Need: (Just like Together for Victory)
1. Canada
2. South Africa
3. India (British Raj)
4. Australia
5. New Zeeland
Shell Shocked: (The western minor powers)
1. Belgium - was invaded by Germany
2. Portugal - the Entente's forgotten ally
3. Italy - Probably the strongest minor power
4. Netherlands - a bystander but not in alternative history
Rising Stars: (as reference to the nations who got their independence from the Ottoman Empire)
1. Serbia - goal of uniting all south slavs from Austria-Hungary.
2. Romania - goal of uniting all Romanians from Austria-Hungary and Russia.
3. Bulgaria - the Balkan Wars will take place in this timeline
4. Greece - reluctant to join at first
The Far Away War: (as reference to being mostly unknown to the world)
1. Japan - fought with Germany for the islands
2. China - started to break down in 1912
3. Mongolia - was claimed in China and Russia
4. Siam - joined the war in 1918
The Dealmakers: (as reference to countries who got deals to join one side or the other)
1. Mexic - deal to join the Central Powers
2. Hejaz - deal to join the Entente in 1917
3. Njed and Hassa - deal to join the Entente in 1915, treaty of Darin
This is the world map on 11th November 1918. As you can see, World War I was far from just a regional war, and unlike World War II the wars didn't stop on 11th November 1918.
Blue - the Entente
Light Blue - colonies or occupied by the Entente
Green - not at war
Yellow - the Central Powers
Red - the communists
As you can see from this picture, the fighting was far from done, almost immediatly the:
- Russian Civil War
- Chinese Civil War
- Finnish Civil War
- Romanian - Hungarian War
- Greco - Turkish War
- Baltic Wars of Independence
- Polish - Soviet War
- The Unification of Saudi Arabia
And other wars, making it far from the sudden peace that the end of World War II (which I think a lot of players would love) was and far from the "war to end all wars" that World War I was trademarked as at the time.
