It is possible to include best mods inside the game ? By example some skin or map on Counter Strike is created by the community, and if perfect for the game, sometime added by default in the game by developers after tests and code review. The game can being better and modders can win great satisfaction and sometime money.

This is amazing to hear for modders, though, to be quite honest this is a bit overdue since they support people modding their games, why would it take until this game to add an easier way for people to mod? Best of luck, and look forward to seeing playing this upon release.

I do believe that these things are possible due to updates to Clausewitz. Since those games run an older version of the engine, I don't think it will be possible. Sorry! But maybe (hopefully?) I'm wrong though.

So if that is implemented, that means that if for instance I don't like the 3d model for one of the Fokker airplanes, I can go to the workshop to see if a modder has made a modder Fokker to replace it?

That would be the idea, yes.

I'm sorry I have to ask
I'm no modder but am I to understand correctly that modders will be able to create their own worlds? Their own continents, their own oceans similar to that of City Skylines?

As answered before, that has always been possible in our games (check out the modding sections for CK2 and EU4 :))

I think the question was more about whether the flag and name of a country could be changed to an arbitrary alternative (without tag-switching).
you cant right now, only from ideology change. I hope we might be able to solve that in a patch if not for release because I understand how important it is for modding.

Edit: Notepad++ is a good text editor and the one I use, if that helps, but I'm far from an experienced modder, but if you don't hear anything better, it's a good place to start :).
Sublime Text is much better ;o)

Unfortunately no. The way event chains are set up can get pretty complex, so building a tool for that is a major task. It's not that we don't want it, but all Content Designers at PDS use text editors like Sublime or NP++ and get the work done. If you're lucky a community member might build one for you =)

Surely a tool allowing province modification like 'development', culture, cores, ownership, and the like would be entirely feasible...

Will a mod, that changes only province or unit names or corrects the translation (german in paradox games is a verry funny thing) effect the Ironman mode/the abillity to get the achivements?

Localisation and graphics should not affect Ironman.
The exception would be names that are written directly in script files. This is not how we want it, but there may be some legacy stuff left that cannot easily be changed due to reasons.
Anything in .gfx or .yml files should be fine to change as far as I know.

I don’t know if it is the same in 4 as it is in 3? However the hard coded (?) aspect of the game where countries have a type of “fixed” number of transports, convoys, escorts etc. that they try to maintain at all times. I’m not saying it is a bad thing, the only issues I have with that is when in active combat the AI still tries to produce transports, convoy’s, escorts etc. when maybe producing other items for war would be more advantageous?


If it is not in the game already could there be a mod produced that would “auto-fill” (?) those equipment/support materials etc. (or other things that I don’t know about) at the end of each day so that the AI concentrates its efforts on producing the tools for war?


I’m sure this has been posted before so I apologize in advance but I could not find it.

I think what threw me off is that the only experience I have with mods is in City Skylines. I just never found a place on Steam to download maps (or other things) that other people made for HOI3.


Since I have really no other experience with mods other than City Skylines all I’ve been thinking about is one day being able to go to Steam and download maps and other user made content and have it be just as simple as it is in CS. Hoping that is the case but I’m not sure.

Mods changing the map tends to be so called "full conversion mods". Steam workshop has a limitation to how big mods can be, and these mods are usually too large. This is why I recommend you to check out the mods subforum for each title to see the really good stuff :)

* The construction system do not use it as it is but it has support for it at least when it comes to naming, you could easily rename the generic "Trade Goods" for GER (and germany only) to "Sauerkraut" just by adding something like 'GER_TRADE_GOODS: "Sauerkraut"' (where default 'TRADE_GOODS: "Trade Goods"') in the localization files.

Finally you do something nice for us bloody germans ! Sauerkraut !!.......hm maybe I have to like that ...bleh....stuff now ?
